The sports bar I frequent for lunch has a special for Vets today, free entree.
I try to swing in there and pick up their tab for the beers. I am hoping to finish off int he office a little early today so I can go buy some vets beers. +1 to initial post to all who have served or lost someone dear while serving, much respect, thank you.

My dad was in the Navy during WWII. Was on an LST at Normandy on D-Day. My uncle who was pretty close with him said he came back changed after that. I never talked much to him about it as it never really came up in conversation. I think he was proud that I went 1-A and was ready to go if they wanted me. But, I also think he was glad my number didn't come up. I've always wondered how being drafted would have changed me. The more I learn about our country's involvement in Vietnam the more I'm glad I didn't have to go. I don't think it would have changed me for the better.
Thank you to all the guys/gals that did go and are in service now and have served in the past. I think too many of us take our freedoms for granted. I went to a car show down at the beach today that is held in honor of our Vet's. This one vehicle stood out amongst all the others.
