You coached in the NHL as well? Also, wasn't it a 6 team league back then? Why do you hope he doesn't own a Porsche?
He certainly chose his words poorly, but the underlying message is true. He just wants to see more people publicly displaying their support to those that sacrificed to allow us the freedoms we enjoy today, including free speech. Doesn't mean he is right, but it's just his opinion. Which is the sole thing he was employed to display.
Is he bombastic and outspoken? Of course, why do you think he was being paid to do what he was doing?
Also, remember, because of the multiple games being shown on the network each Saturday, Coaches Corner is taped. Yes, correct, the weak kneed Sportsnet network views it ahead of time and deems it ok for broadcast. But then when the butt hurt society we have become cries foul, they fire him... Ya, ok....
Not saying he should be doing what he is doing. But SN kept him there because his outspoken nature generated ratings. And then they OK'd his spot and chose to broadcast it. Then they throw him under the bus, even though they OK'd the segment and sent it out for broadcast in many markets.
