TV series - What to watch next?

Being a major Sopranos fan I am having a difficult time finding something to "replace" it.

Loved Californication, Breaking bad and True Detective - but dont know what to watch now. There are just so many shows with mediocre plots and acting.

Funny. that series is actually based on a Danish tv series. I love Diane Kruger. Will check it out when it airs here in Denmark. Thanks.

Have you tried Boardwalk Empire? Season 1 is free with Amazon Prime. Season 5 starts on HBO in October. Based on real people and mob 1920's Atlantic City. Steve Buscemi is excellent.

The Walking Dead and 24 are the only two TV shows that I watch regularly. Otherwise I generally hate TV.

I started watching The Wire. Older, I know, but still pretty good.

We have been watching The Honourable Woman . It is currently airing on BBC2, but will start airing in the US on the Sundance Channel at the end of July. It is not light-hearted, but that is what I find interesting.

Also, the writer/director has said that there will be eight episodes and no more. “Part of the trust we offer the audience is that it’s this story [and only this story]. We’re not trying to wink and say ‘Maybe there’s another one.’ It’s got something profoundly engaging to say… because the conclusion it takes is final.”

I just finished Breaking Bad this spring and picked up Homeland. Very good.

My favorite is The Wire. You'd probably have to buy/rent the DVDs. Homeland is good, orange is the new black is ok, lillyhammer is watchable but not that great in my opinion
