Suggestions for an ID plate/sticker

Earlier this year I purchased a John Deere 332 garden tractor but it was missing the ID sticker . This era JD actually had a heavy vinyl sticker vs. a stamped metal plate . I recently got the serial number from JD based on the engine ID plate .

So now that I have the info I need to make a plate . I suppose any sign shop or graphics shop can make a vinyl sticker . But use the wrong cleaning solution and it becomes illegible . Other option is get a metal plate , where would you suggest getting a metal plate made ? Or is there another solution I am not aware of .

JD can provide a duplicate vinyl tag but it's an act of Congress to get it done .

Could you get a vinyl one and spray clear coat on it, or maybe cover it with clear vinyl like that clear bra stuff. What about that stuff you use to protect headlights?

Go to a trophy shop and have them engrave a trophy tag.

I think we have a trophy shop in town I will swing by there and see what they can do . I have another JD tractor that has the ID tag so I can snap a pic with dimensions for reference . I would prefer a metal tag over a vinyl one even though vinyl was original . If it turns out I have to go vinyl then yes some type of clear spray or tape will be applied to protect the info . The reason I want the tag is to complete the machine , sounds silly but that's the way I want it . If I wake up dead the wife or kids will have to possibly sell the tractor , many prospective buyers are turned off by missing data plate .

I have 3 John Deeres including an older 214, a newer 955, and a really old 300 backhoe. I have never needed to look at the tag on any of them, why do you need a new one...just curious ?

A) Because I can.
B) Because I want to.
C) Just because.
D) Any or all of the above

There are several reasons why I am wanting the tag .

1. While I am not planning on selling if I or my family has to a machine with a tag has more value to a buyer .

2. I like having things complete .

3. There are some parts on these machines that are model # and model year specific . An example is the parts in the hydro linkage , there were four revisions and parts are not compatible with each other . Now that I have the info I don't NEED a plate but I WANT a plate .
Those are the drivers in my pursuit of a replacement plate . When I purchased this tractor ( used ) I negotiated a lower price partly because of the missing data plate/sticker.

Any number of companies do this, here's one I'm going to work with:
https://www.metaltags.com/

They happen to be local to me. I found several online metal tag/plate/sticker companies, some will laser etch or enamel or weather-safe print them based on uploaded files.

Go to a sign shop, get it printed and laminated. It will be a cheap (or at least inexpensive) sticker. Have them make 4 or 5. If one gets damaged, peel it off and replace it. Most of the cost will be the setup and creation of the graphic. Once that is done, it is just printing it. Maybe ask them for a copy of the print file, or how long they keep it around.

Lamination is important if you want it to be protected from cleaning sprays. I bought a new Honda mower. The area around the controls was greasy from my dirty hands while using the mower. I discovered Brake cleaner will simply remove the lettering.
