The Art Of Racing In The Rain - movie review

If you love auto racing, dogs, Porsches, Ferraris, and just a good old fashioned tear jerker, this movie is for you. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Read the book. Not really into tear jerkers. I may have to check it out anyway.

Definitely a tear jerker. Especially since I have two golden retrievers.
However......spoiler alert......

if you have any understanding of how/who becomes an F1 driver the ending isn’t very believable.

How would this be for a 6 and 9 year old?

Both kids race karts and love animals.

My 6 and 12 year old son’s both liked it. They’re into cars and dogs. My wife enjoyed it too. Great family movie.

But a narrator for a dog is? I kid, but I know what you are getting at.

unclebilly, it is a family friendly movie unlike the book.

Couldn't make it through to the end--was afraid I'd get fatal treacle poisoning. It was cool to see shots of my home track Pacific Raceways.

Quite possibly one of the best movies I've seen for some time.

My wife and I watched it last night. Great movie! It does jerk at each emotion in the inventory for sure.

My wife and I liked it last night. Not a very realistic portrayal of a racing driver, or medical and custody issues for that matter. One of the TV shots of F1 cars had much more modern cars than those at the end of the movie.

Given all that I really enjoyed it. Great choices for cars.

Watched it on my flight home on Saturday. Not recommended for airplane use. Just sayin’.

Really good movie for what it is. Don’t look for stark reality...just go for the ride. If you’re a dog person (check) and a racing fan (check) it’s well worth a couple of hours.

I saw this movie today with my 9 year old at the cheap theatre. We both really liked it. I agree with most of the other posts. This was the best movie I have seen in a LONG time and the cancer, racing, weird in-laws, and aging dog resonated with me.
