She's good. I have a 16 year old, I've heard a lot of her music.

madcorgi 11-22-2019 10:00 PM

She strikes me as an extremely old soul.

cantdrv55 11-22-2019 10:33 PM

Voice control is incredible but the music sucks

She's . . . 18. Pretty good bet she'll do well at her high school talent show. Oh, and the Grammys. Music and videos streamed 18 billion times.

Correction: she's still 17.

rusnak 11-22-2019 11:26 PM

meh. Ariana Grande's voice is better, but her music sucks worse.

s_morrison57 11-23-2019 04:16 AM

Not my thing, no offence but that's terrible IMO. Makes me glad I'm old

Been listening to her for almost a year now. I was worried she wouldn't do well in the pop establishment. Glad I was wrong, very talented woman who has a lot more to offer.

I like her. If not for my kids I would not have a clue who she is.

Her pics make you want to take a nap, tho.

Here she is being herself (I think). She ain't no dullard.

My daughter listens to her. Nice change from the norm. She’s getting pretty big.
Maggie Rogers is another up and coming. She went to school with my kids.

I listened to my daughters music for two hours while I drove her home from the airport last night. Not bad but not stuff I would listen to on my own. Still, 2 hours of father daughter time, I’ll take it any day.

I have the Ocean Eyes Astronomyy remix on my playlist. Aside from that song I find her stuff, while talented, way too nappytime for me. Recently it looks like she might get relegated to doing collabs with "superstars", hopefully she doesn't fade into that obscurity hole that so many artists do these days and then are never heard from again.

If you like this genre I'd recommend you checkout Loote....good stuff recently. https://youtu.be/08nZkp8mFNc

x2

good beat and I still listen to it once in awhile. Not sure I like much of her other stuff but this works for me.

Heard this in Faction yesterday, people are already covering her songs.

I heard her music and thought is was cool she was doing a different sound over all the autotune crap that is pop now. Then I head her and Phin on Stern and was impressed. They are very talented.

I've been listening to some of her stuff recently too. She seems smarter than the average bear. I think most of the music and lyrics are written by her and her brother.

I'm not expecting you guys that don't like her music to start liking it, but what has struck me is that as I hear more and more of it (on pandora) it doesn't all sound the same. You may not like "bad guy" but you might look more favorably on some of her other songs.

Like her voice..kind of a touch of Kim Karnes (sp) rasp in that Stern video. But I'm old, I'm not supposed to really like her stuff as the kids do. Keeping her off my ipod...keeping Jimmy Buffett, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beatles and Stones on. Think you get my drift..

My daughter clued me in last year. Heard her on Stern driving to Yorktown.

She spent some on the show with her brother and parents.

I have always disdained what I call "female heartbreak music"--the kind of whiny crap they used to play on Gray's Anatomy, which my wife and daughter watched for years. Made me puke. But Billie is way different from people ike Taylor Swift and Arianna Grande. Her music is far darker, fills up a whole room with just two people playing, and doesn't rely on T&A, autotune, sampling, or anything else. Raw power.

cashman 11-23-2019 06:02 PM

I like her a lot and find her to be one of the best recent new, creative talents. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do with her image moving forward and how her music progresses. Every image I see of her depicts an “Imo” adolescent. It’s going to be hard to continue that image with $30 million in the bank.

colingreene 11-23-2019 07:35 PM

Look up her coachella performance
amazing show for a 17 year old kid.
