Just a little update a year later, still having beans or another vegetable almost every night. I found that cauliflower gets real soft and delicious after broiling.
Lately I have been slicing new red potatoes real thin and adding them to the beans- now that is good eating. Bonus is that I weigh 20lbs less than before I started, although I have made other changes to my diet as well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1611705869.jpg |
Hot pan with a little oil. Trim and wash the beans, while they are drippy wet scatter some seasonings on 'em - kosher salt, black pepper, some chili powder or red pepper flakes. Toss onto hot pan and cover. Keep 'em moving and cook 'em until they are "done" enough for you to eat (depends on texture/taste preference).

Glad you are having fun with veggies, Rutager. For several reasons. They are good for you in multiple ways....they have magical powers and they fill your tummy at least as well as chips and dip. I wonder if you have come to enjoy fixing food. In my mind, it is one of the best art forms. Everyone appreciates it. Endless combinations and techniques. Everybody eats, at least a couple of times per day. And best of all, the masterpieces are destroyed. They are much rarer than other art, since only those at the table were able to experience it. In minutes, they exist only as fond memory and then you paint another one. Oh....and salt is not a spice. Technically.
