IJP Morgan Chase Debit Card Does Not Work

Went to the grocery store and at the Check Out I tried to use my Chase Debit card. DIDN'T" WORK, kept on reading "Chip Malfunction." Tried it at the Customer Service Desk same thing. The Customer Service Supervisor said, "That they are having a lot of Chase Debit cards not work." It was working fine the last time I used it on Sunday???

Called Chase and complained about it..they are sending a new card in 7 to 10 days.

Went to Sams Club and tried to use the Chase Card (to see if it was the grocery stores problem)..same thing DOESN"T WORK. Is this Chase's way of finagling hanging on to the cash for a bit longer????

Remember in 1933 FDR CLOSED THE BANKS where a lot of people lost all their money. To instill confidence in the banking system FDIC was instituted that the government would make good on bank deposits Remember at the same time FDR made it illegal for American citizens to own Gold, this was to force people to use the paper currency. People had to turn in their Gold coins for paper money.

The RUMOR out on Wall Street is that JP MORGAN CHASE is potentially the bank that the FED is accomodating at the REPO Window to keep them afloat...others on that list are possibly Deutsche Bank Credit Swiss or some other European Bank??? We just don't know and won't know for 2 years...it is a secret...

I don't think they'd do something like this on purpose but I've been wrong many times before.

Maybe they had a batch of faulty short lived cards or your card got bent and the chip is damaged.

I have had this card for quite some time...not bent, not damaged..Worked fine on Sunday at Sams Club, sat in my wallet on the counter since..So WHAT CHANGED?

Do the Chips just fail overnight????

Sorry no idea but can they manually input the numbers on the front of the card at the point of sale?

Ya can't double dip yer chip! Mebbe they ran out of salsa or something....wtf knows? Did you try using the magnetic strip or as posted, manually entering the info, etc. I've used 'em where after the chip fails to read 3 times, you use the strip? Makes ya go hmmm???

I'd barter in spoons and rugs if I were you!

Oh yeah....JP ain't got yer dough....Fred does ;)

What to worry about then, they can just print up a bunch to cover it...

the Mag strip on the card DID NOT WORK.. the Store did not or could not input the number manually. Sams Club I didn't even try to get them to manually input the data.

If they take away yer Gold (like in 1933) and Silver then what is left....I plan on using my rugs to fly round on...

That wasn't a "chip" issue if the other ways failed aldo. The "computer" failed....no humans will be held accountable....

Print $$$? How quaint....just flip some bits instead ;)

If that is what you want to call it..fine by me...

So I guess I wouldn't be able to buy food if the computers failed....that is a good case for having a stash of cash..just in case...

Tabs, the selfie that you posted on instagram (or is that snapchat) this morning was great!

They are out to get you, Tabs. They know you are the only person in the world that is on to them and they are after you. It is just the start. They won't stop until they bankrupt you!

LOL...when they snatch the rug right out from under Tabby....he's got more :)!

I've got a Chase card, no issues. The new touchless card has been flawless

Now my Wells Fargo card.

Works when it feels like it which is around 80% of the time.

Sometimes it does take an extra coupla tries.

I love my Apple Card.

Great product. The card is solid metal, not that plasticized metal that some premium cards use but solid as zero flex and you can't bend it.

Within seconds of using it you'll get notification on your phone and the account can be managed straight from the phone, you get a read out of all purchases and can pay the card straight from your digital wallet.

The one thing that does give me pause about the heftiness of it, it will take an edge and I can see some whack job doing just that and using it as a weapon. Makes me wonder if it may become a TSA issue at some point.

I had a Chase card that stopped working. Chip was gone. Sent me a replacement overnight.

Maybe the fraud department saw the large purchase of food and thought it was a fraudulent purchase for your card. ;)

My credit cards are all working fine.

I think they have had server issues recently. My amazon card is thru Chase and went through a period a week ago where it was declined everywhere, including Amazon, despite the balance being well below the card's limit. Suspect its an it issue.

That Tin Foil hat won't do me any good, cause they have already implanted the micro chip inn my brain that controls my every thought and action...

The tech is really great cause they can beam a TV signal straight into my brain where I actually think I am watching TV...

The craziest program that they beam in on me is that Donald Turmp is President...isn't that wild, that some blowhard like Trump could be President...who thinks these stories up?

Whenever and however it fails tabs, one day it will work and the next it will not, kind of the nature of failure. Smart guy like you should know that, and stow the tinfoil hat. What nefarious plot is afoot when you go out in the AM and your car won't start? Not everything is an indicator of your predicted financial collapse friend.

Then WHY SHOULD I USE SOMETHING THAT IS PRONE TO SPORADIC FAILURE if I depend upon it to pay for potentially life sustaining things. Such as gasoline on a trip, or food, or medical services. ... How can you TRUST it, when it might fail when you really need it?If I use CASH instead no problemo.........

The only thing that SPARKED my reptailain thought process was when the store supervisor said, "That there were A LOT of Chase cards that were not working." Hmm that is more than myself that is having a problem with their cards..so that precludes a plot that they are out to get me...but then there are a host of possible reasons for it happening on a wider spread basis??????
