Don't have to go to extremes to have regular BM. Need to eat more fiber, is all. Oatmeal / flax seed for breakfast and 5+ servings of fruit / vegetables a day will do the trick.

Vegetarian diet maybe, but vegan is extreme IMHO and you will hurt yourself in other ways.

If you can get through the withdrawals good deal, if not, just try giving up sugar and caffeine.

Guys, go watch The Game Changers on Netflix. It’s a little sensationalist so youd have to cut through that but the message is definitely thought provoking.

This.. watched it a few weeks ago and decided to give a plant based diet a try. I will never totally give up meat but eating far far less of it is my goal.

We could never be friends.

I have a subscription to Butcher Box, we had done the math and it worked out cheaper than buying our proteins at the local green market. We still get locally sourced proteins just at a better price now. Everything is certified organic, no growth hormones, no antibiotics and all the beef is grass fed. I included their bacon in my deliveries, it is the best bacon I have ever had.

There is a vegan restaurant about 200 meters from my house. It's always busy.

When I heard it was being set up as a restaurant I must admit I thought it would make an awesome steakhouse. But they sure do a huge trade as they are. Even my sister thinks the place is good and she's pretty hard to impress.

On death row...my last meal request would be vegan....

'cause then you'd have something else to look foward too :D

Did you go Vegan or Vegetarian. There's a difference.

cantdrv55 12-03-2019 02:59 PM

Vegan. No meat or dairy but I’m not giving up my leather shoes or belts.

Nope. A lot use different finings that are a no no in a vegan diet. Apparently they are made from animal products??I had no idea until I was having a discussion with someone about a vegan diet.

Just looked. I know from brewing that Gelatin is a popular fining that helps clarify the beer. I don't know if that's something done on a large commercial scale but that could be part of it.

I don’t drink beer or wine, just scotch and vodka.

wildthing 12-03-2019 07:20 PM

I go regularly but I attribute it to oatmeal every morning and some veggies maybe 3x a week...

Our closest living relatives eat meat and feed it to their young. Good enough for me.

cabmandone 12-06-2019 03:46 PM

Any particular cook book you're going with?

Arizona_928 12-06-2019 05:05 PM

All jokes aside. I would not attempt to eat a bacon cheeseburger...

cantdrv55 12-06-2019 07:21 PM

I use recipes from YouTube mainly

edit- I have no real opinion on the veterinarians. I just think the pie chart is funny.

Giving up meat is easier than giving up dairy for me. Did two stints for two years each as a vegetarian in my life. Never again though.

The dairy has got to go, I just need someone to set an example for me I guess.

I eat beef maybe once a month, small portions. Red meat is hard to digest the older you get, so I have been told and as my stomach explained to me several times.
