Oh Henry was ok if nothing else was available. It was always the last bars to be eaten out of the halloween bucket.. lol.. Well, it was before nestle crunch bars..

red-beard 12-02-2019 02:06 PM

There was one old lady at Halloween who used to give them out. But they were always stale.

Edit: They were Clark bars, not Oh Henry.

I seem to remember getting a giant size "Oh Henry", like 5x, for Christmas. Maybe a gift exchange?

Butterfinger was my favorite. I'd get a DQ Blizzard with Butterfinger a few times a year. I was disappointed to learn that they changed the recipe. Now it tastes disgusting.

Butterfinger has been my favorite. When was the recipe changed? I don't treat myself very often with a candy bar - it's probably been almost a year.

I never eat candy bars, this past Halloween we had a lot left over, I almost induced diabbeatus.

I should correct that, we grab a 85% cocoa bar at Walgreens once in a blue moon.

Tootsie Rolls are by far the best chewy candy bar around. I've been eating the since 1955. Sometimes they're hard to find.

I was always a fan of World's Finest. Don't eat much chocolate, a twix every now and then.

Zero. Candy bar and my IQ.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of what they will have at the Piggly Wiggly.

Zero Bar, for a change of pace, if they have them. Oh Henry is good, Almond Joy, Snickers.

There is some Ghirardelli chocolate that you get in a bag of little squares, dark, milk, or with caramel, whatever, they are all good.

Except egg nog flavored squares, must start out as white chocolate that they add whatever to and arrive at nasty.

You get a lot of Toblerone bars as gifts when you are named Toby, so I have that going for me

Lindt is top shelf, I like Dove chocolate, has a good texture and flavor

Saadi996tt 12-02-2019 08:43 PM

This is the candy section at one of my gas stations, I must walk past it countless times per day but don’t have the urge to get anything off the shelf.

sure the Aztecs cut out people's hearts and drilled into their brains - while they were still alive

BUT..... they invented chocolate!

You guys are savages.

Rittersport dark chocolate and hazelnuts.

My late father used to keep both Mounds and Almond Joys in his top dresser drawer.

One of those memories from childhood you'll never forget.

asphaltgambler 12-03-2019 11:56 AM

Well - it looks like it'll be awhile before I taste anymore Mounds. Just got my 6 month wellness report and my A1C is now elevated to 6.5. I'm 60, 5- 11, 215 with a muscular build. Bye sweets, carbs, drinking frequently and generally having fun....

I was wondering if anyone would mention those. It's the only candy bar that I will actually get a craving to have. I'll be standing in a checkout line and feel compelled to buy one.

A customer from Hawaii sent me a care package with some really good chocolates.

When I was a little kid, my dad would occasionally being home a pack of Bit-O-Honey & give me & my sisters a piece. It's still one of my favorites, but what they make now days doesn't taste exactly like the one from the past.
