enclosed car shipping

Moving soon and hoped someone on the board has had experience with shipping their Porsche. I have 2 vehicles (not a stable, yet) that need to get from Oklahoma to Minnesota. Anyone had good or bad results from any of the carriers?
I very much appreciate your help.

Enclosed shipping

I have shipped several cars using enclosed shipping and was very happy. 70 Corvette, 69 Corvette , Porsche carrera. Each with a different shipper. Each was very good. There is a shipping clearing site where you post the type Car(s), from to destination and several shippers that travel those routes will give you a bid

Thanks Jim. Do you happen to remember the web address of the clearing site?

I used Reliable to transport my '84 911. No issues but not inexpensive.

passport has done well for me. Christine will take good care of you. I have also used Thomas Sunday. Passport has proven more economical than other carriers I have called

I’ve answered this question a half a dozen times. If you do a search under my user name, you can probably find what I typed before.

Rich's Classic Transport out of Lincoln was great for us.

You can also try U-Ship - that may be a somewhat economical way of doing it. You type what you want moved and where to and people bid on the job. You can check out their ratings and also contact them directly to see if you're able to get a better deal.

I used D A S, Dependable Auto Shipping, paid for enclosed shipping and didn't get it. Fly by night rip off bastards.
Next time its with a company that picks it up and it stays with them on that same truck until its final destination.
Who knows how many carriers that DAS used on route, there was damage done and surprisingly nobody knew anything about it.

How could a person not make a good business out of providing this service well and with integrity?

Montway. They are a shipper, not a broker and did a great job shipping my Land Rover Defender.

https://www.montway.com

I’m not sure if they ship enclosed, but a word of caution- many promise that but in the fine print, it says that part of the journey may not be enclosed. Bollocks to that. I had my 993 shipped enclosed & after hearing about that, I made sure it would be enclosed 100% of the way.

That is the WORST advise on the internet today.

I used U-Ship and I got scammed by this guy who still has a 5 star uship rating even though he is in jail for 12.5-78 years for scamming his uship customers...

Passport Transport shipped the Olds from Orlando to Hastings, Minn April 2017. No problems. They thoroughly documented any prior, scratches, chips, etc. Car was first on and last off. Provided GPS so I could follow the truck along the route. Make sure it has proper antifreeze before shipping to cold climate (this time of year).

There is no guarantee of cargo insurance unless you ask for a cert from their underwriter (this is considered normal)
Have the UW fax it to you
So-as a minimum you want
1- you want them to have a DOT number .
2- proof of cargo insurance of agreed value not the 10 cents a pound BS
3-air ride
4,-and a list of the last ten hauls for references.
Anything less then the above I will guarantee you will get less.
Or worse yet ripped off. I have no idea what happened to my 2nd unimog...

It is a sad truth about cargo insurance that most people just take for granted.

If they are doing the job for less one can bet they are providing a lot less too.
He is in jail for 12.5-78 years and the original sentence had him needing to pay everyone back before he could be paroled. I get a random check in the mail from Pennsylvania State corrections... I doubt I will ever be paid back.
