Headed to the Stuttgart Porsche factory early June. Any suggestions on where to stay?

We did a vrbo about a 20min train ride away. It was a very nice apartment and we really enjoyed it. Dont forget to make reservations to do the factory tour as they are booked solid well in advance. Shoot me a pm and I can have my wife track down the info on the apartment if you are interested.

I usually stay in a hotel in downtown Stuttgart. It’s a 25 min light rail ride from the HBF main station to Zuffenhausen.
Zuffenhausen is an industrial estate wilderness in the evening’s whereas Stuttgart has lots of bars, restaurants and shops and the center is alive and busy by night. I’d also recommend a visit to the Mercedes Museum, even though I’m a die hard Porsche nut I appreciate all that’s to see at MB. If by chance you are able to hire a car and have more days drive the old road race track around Solitude to the south of Stuttgart and visit and view the memorabilia at the Glensckek Hotel/ Corner. |

SCHLOSSHOTEL MONREPOS
Domäne Monrepos 22 71634 Ludwigsburg, Germany It's a 10 minute drive from Porsche Platz in a very nice domain, they have horses there, a castle the hotel is in a seperate building but the rooms are nice and the kitchen is good. It's close to Porsche Finance , and where they typically go themselves. No AC in the rooms but early June you should be fine.

I probably wouldn’t choose to drive if this is a vacation. When I was there traffic around the factory seemed to be quite heavy and probably not all that fun if you aren’t sure of where you are going etc... we found the light rail to super easy to use and took us everywhere we wanted to go.

Definitely go to the Benz museum. The Porsche museum is very sci-fi and slick and full of race cars etc.
But the variety of vehicles, displays and size of the Benz museum is amazing! |

+1 on the light rail system, was there a couple of months ago and ended up driving but there is a LRT stop right beside Porsche museum, as mentioned the MB museum is nearby and worth seeing, less than 2hrs down the A8 is the BMW museum. We did use the LRT to get around the city.
Not sure about Porsche but noticed a sign saying BMW did not allow cameras in the factory tour, and would not allow backpacks in the museum.

Porsche Museum allows cameras , not in the factory tour, you have to hand em in

My recommendation is based on my visit about 30 years ago so I don’t know if it still applies. We stayed in Stuttgart at the Graf Zeppelin hotel, which is very close to the train station. Had a great time!
