Car speaker problem

When I put the stereo on in my car, this loud, constant, static noise comes out of the back speakers and then eventually the noise vanishes and I can can hear the front speakers. What could cause that? Just wondering how To proceed.
Thanks

How old are the speakers?
Pop the covers off and see if the foam surrounds are still there.

Does the noise occur every time you start the car for a short period or at random or...?

Can you give us some more specific detail about exactly what happens?

Yes, give us a short description of what car, are speakers original, is there separate amp, etc.

Original speakers in 2002 996 4S.

When I turn on the loud, static noise comes from the back. It's constant for 10-15 seconds and then it dies down and then I can hear the front speakers. I can video and post that.

It was a known issue when I bought the car.

The owner was an 82 year old guy who must have enjoyed loud music.

Thank you.

I'm not a car audio tech, but to me what you're describing sounds like a problem with the head unit or amp, as if the rear channel isn't working correctly until it warms up or something like that.
