Bonneville 2019
I can't believe Road and Track didn't cover this team. Kids of the automotive press today seem to have absolutely no respect for history.
I would like to publicly give these guys a tip of my hat for their efforts! (edit) Also their humor... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FKuKFwlvfA&t=18s

That's outstanding! I love the tent (complete with crystal chandelier) and the police cyclops.

Geeze, people who work their asses off and spend tons of money to make a car go fast have to sit around and wait while these clowns go 17.4 mph?
I admire their spirit, but they should have their own event. I can see a new Bonneville rule - if you can't go 100 mph you can't participate.

I tend to agree with WD on this one...there is a time, and place for antics like this. How would you like to have taken vacation to get in as many runs as you could with your big $$ streamliner, or roadster, paid/fed a crew to help you, only to have to watch these idiots waste your time, and money.

^^^ define idiots.
My best friend goes to the world of speed and the world finals every year as part of the crew for a streamlined bike. Every year, they come home disappointed because something broke, or something wasn’t right, or they ran out of traction. Last fall, I pointed out that when the bike was stock, with only one engine and no streamlining it could go faster than they have been going on the salt. I asked if the real problem was the driver running out of testicular fortitude. This got the wheels churning. Bonnyville is all about grass roots type racing. These cyclops guys have taken it a bit further than grass roots but I think once people start to take themselves too seriously, the opportunity to have fun goes away.

I know a guy that runs a bike at Bonneville. He seldom gets to run, as some (most?) years the weather conditions don't cooperate. I think the serious racers ought to get ALL of the priority. If they're going to run stupid crap like this, they ought to be the last in line every day, when it's too dark to run the serious racers.

Rest easy..I have it on good authority that the serious racers lost nothing with this bit of fun. Team Cyclops was welcomed with open arms and much laughter..
