The Bar Table King
If you bother to click on this old 4 minute video, you'll see three greats of the pool world. Only Dave Matlock, the bar table king, is shooting as he runs some racks of 9 ball. Cool the way he explains the shots, telling us where the cue ball will end up.
That's the late great Steve "The Miz" Miserak doing some commentary. You might remember him from some light beer ads he did back in the day. Holding his cue and hoping for a turn at the table is Johnny Archer, another multi world tournaments champion. Bar tables used a slightly oversize cue ball beck then, so scratches wouldn't lock it up. That took some adapting to for players used to regulation tables with all balls the same size. Either Steve or Johnny would beat Dave on a regulation table...but on his specialty, the bar box? Well, he was the king back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2_aE6OR-yU
