I'd never heard of this, but I absolutely hear similarities.
I would think that it would come down to how much of it was similar and how much it takes to be considered infringement. The posted article was interesting too.

It's been in and out of court for quite a few years. Randy California (before he died) said he didn't care...but his estate surely did.
I wish they (LZ) would have just admitted it before it went to court. The money thing is not going away.

Just saw this in another article....crazy!
"The jury was not allowed to hear recordings of either "Stairway to Heaven" or "Taurus" as the lawsuit was over a copyright claim and only the sheet music is filed with with the U.S. Copyright Office. Instead, musicians played the intro to "Stairway to Heaven" on a guitar and "Taurus" on a piano."
