Thinking a bit more on this I think my plan C after the shirts run out is to just do what my dogs do and drag my ass across the carpet or lawn. I figure if I do it out on the lawn it'll give the neighbor a good laugh while they're quarantined.

Because you want TP on hand if your town gets "New Rochelle-d" or "Italy-ed".

It’s a ***** show...

I thought they did it because it feels good. Not that I'd know how it feels.. |

You can’t eat TP but you can use a Mac and cheese packet to wipe your azz.

It’s because when someone sneezes, everyone schits themselves

My question is: WHY are people stocking up on water? Has the water stopped in Wuhan or Milan? TP makes sense to me, water, not so much.
|
it might if the guys that run the filtration plants, tmt. dam operations get sick
fire or earthquake are risks to the water supply I stock water all the time, despite owning some camping filters... Two Tips: 1. always be prepared to camp or 'camp' in your house for a couple of weeks water/food/first aid/ etc. 2. visit your friendly neighborhood LDS/Mormon and get a tour of the basement - they know what they're doing in terms of being ready for a disaster |
Imagine if there was a massive EQ right now in CA. Perfect storm and all of those prepper weirdos would be vindicated.

I wanted to get a Costco chicken for lunch. Crazy lines from the back of the store to the front, so I said f that! I could have stood in line, ate the whole chicken and still not reach the cashier!

Charge $40 for a can of Spam to the "this is less lethal than a common flu" people. |
For the weird conspiracy theory believers I offer this:
A Kroger employee told us that the reason for the TP shortage is that the paper tubes it is rolled on are made in China, and China isn’t shipping it anymore. |
Ironic. The people stocking up are scared of getting the coronavirus, but there is mass concentration of people in line.

The panic buying finally hit SW Oklahoma.
I drove by a Walmart/Sam's complex and the parking lot was packed full. Cars stopped on the street trying to get into the parking lot. I gave an acquaintance that basically lives week to week 200 bucks to go buy a stockpile of food. He said there was no water, paper products, disinfectant spray or towels, can good were very low, and he had to wait 5 minutes just to get a buggy. |

Everyone’s FOS.

Who else here has a "bugout bag"?
I've had one for years and years. Time to see what's in it. I know there is a portable water filtration system in it, some basic stuff like fire starters, knife, food. |

That said like any cult, they stock pile food like crazy. |
you need to go back to PARF
|
Bidet. A couple of squares of tp and a splash of water a day and you're clean as a whistle....
|
Apparently in GB during WWII, soldiers were issued 3 squares of tp a day. One up, one down, one to polish was all you should need, said the men in charge....
|
I could never be a Mormon. I would eat all of my food and my cousins are fugly.

I simply can't see a situation where water is a major need. The highest winds ever recorded on Earth 300+ MPH in the Moore, OK tornado flattened buildings and did significant damage. Yet just walk 1/2 a mile away and civilization was totally unchanged. We did not even have a power blink in our part of town that day. We do have plenty of water in our shelter, and a 5 gallon bucket in case we are trapped down there. The shelter is registered with the city, and they know to send rescue teams to look in all the shelters, so help will be coming even if a F5 tornado drops a simi truck on our shelter. I know we are totally immune to tsunamis, and hurricanes are no big worry. Massive earthquakes are just not likely at all. Wildfires are in the realm of possiblity, but really low worry. We live on a hill and I don't think there is enough water anywhere to ever flood us. Zombies are make believe. Extraterrestrial aliens attacking are unlikely with bigfoot and the unicorns to protect us. So no, I don't have a real bug out bag. |
I wish we had a Bigfoot and a unicorn to protect us here.
