Eyelid fix

How many of you old timers have had your eyelids cut and pulled up? Been having a hard time driving at night and tig welding, hell I could damn near weld without a helmet. Get it done on Monday, here is a before I’ll post an after.

Not yet but in the cards. Please show results.

You'll look 10 years younger too.

^^^ Tell her it's a 2 for 1 deal.
She might want to cash in!

Dad got that done. Don't wait, do it as soon as you can get your insurance to spring for it.

rcooled 03-14-2020 05:33 PM

My FIL had it done on Medicare's dime by claiming that it was interfering with his peripheral vision.

cgarr 03-14-2020 08:59 PM

They did the vision test and said insurance would cover it no problem. He is going to even up my eyebrows while he’s at it too.

Its hereditary in my family. My brother got it done last year. Honestly said it was the most painful thing he has ever done.. Eek!..

rusnak 03-14-2020 11:31 PM

What sort of place do you go to for that kind of procedure?

CMDR Perry 03-15-2020 07:46 AM

Craig I had mine done in December 2019 including a brow lift. I had lost 20% of my peripheral vision on each side from drooping eyelids. The results are great but the recovery is a *****. I could not sleep the first night due to an extreme headache. Expect the worst constipation possible depending on pain killers used. I also lost a lot of hair due to the brow lift and still have numbness on left side of my skull. It will make you look younger and more alert besides the greatly improved field of vision. DP

Wow, good grief. I don't need this (at least not now) but this thread makes me want to live with it if I ever do.

Sagging body parts being lifted....hmmmm

Jesus...and here I thought it was a nothing on the pain/discomfort scale. My mom had it done, (hereditary in my family), she didn't mention any pain.

Most people's eyelids droop or sag as they get older. It's definitely worse on me if I'm tired, go figure.

.

Remember that your Mom gave birth...her pain perspective may be a bit skewed. That and sometimes people just don't mention whether or not something hurts, they just deal. You might ask her. I suspect it is worse for some than others, just as any procedure is worse for some than others.

Brow lift is a much bigger deal. Pray that it holds. Good friend went through that and the anchor point holding the line failed.

My FIL said that his recovery was virtually pain free. He only had his upper lids done and he didn't have a brow lift. He was black & blue and a bit puffy for about a week, but that was it.

Pain perspective. That reminds me of the old question - which is worse, a woman giving birth or a guy getting kicked in the groin.

You don't hear a guy saying every couple of years "I think I'd like another kick in the groin."

As the old saw goes: Which is why women have babies - there would be no people if men had to.

The eyelid issue is one I wasn't aware of...
