So sad it is almost funny
I have mentioned this same guy in another thread and now he comes up with new way to go doh!
Steve lives paycheck to paycheck. I have bailed him out of multiple financial problems in the past and he has always paid me back. Might take a while but he always managed to do it. I see him last week and he has a bum looking eye. Told me he had cataract surgery. Says he can actually see! Has to pay off the $800 for the first eye before they do the same on the 2nd. $100 a week for 8 weeks. $800 seemed low to me but he said the place does them at that low cost for the poor. I said, hell, I'll loan ya $1600 and you can get both paid off and be done with it. He was elated. Today was the day to get the second eye done. I get a text from him at about 2 PM. "They won't let me drive home. They have called the cops. I need a ride" Apparently he raised a little hell. I ask him where he is at. He replies with the address and "cops are here. Drive me home and I will drive you back to get your car." So I hop in the car and when I arrive I find him sitting in his truck, face to face with a police cruiser. I park, get out, and go up to the cruiser. I told the officers I will take his butt home and catch a cab back. They told me they would follow us to his house and bring me back to my car. About a 10 mile round trip. I park his truck and head to the cruiser. I asked if I had to be cuffed to get in the back. They replied "only if you want to." Actually had a good time on the way back talking about my cop BIL that they knew. "Hairspray Hanson". Cop reached out to shake my hand. Nope, I said, elbow bump. What a friggin mess. |

I had a friend like that. He always had the worst bad luck. Ever time I'd see him he'd ask for money. That wears thin after a while...
One time he was at the gas station and he bumped into a Bikies motorcycle causing some damage (pain scuff and a small dent). He told them he was broke but he'd do his best to pay for the damage. They then invite themselves back to his house and ransacked the place. They took anything of value they could carry riding their bikes (mostly DVD and Blu Rays) When he told me about it he seemed happy. As far a he was concerned the debt had been paid and he was off the hook. It only cost him about $1,000 in stuff.

One time a buddy asked me if he could borrow $500 until payday.
I asked, "when's payday?" He said, "how the heck would I know, you're the one with the job!" For the record, didn't happen. Old joke. Older than I am. |

He sounds like a walking disaster, waiting to stumble into the next spot of trouble.
