Seems to me a Caterpillar Tractor yellow wouldn't look inappropriate on that Ski Doo.

Have you tried cleaning/polishing what's there?
It doesn't look like it really needs painting, at least from the picture you posted.

PM me if you find the right code, I have a 66 Super Olympic that I'm going to restore probably next fall, I wonder if it is the same color yellow.
Its a cool sled, 300cc or so, single cylinder twin carb, I think it was 12hp over the Olympic's 9 or 10. Also have 2 Arctic Cat's a 72 Puma 340 and a 74 with the Wankle engine that I restored, not to perfection, paint and mechanical.
Good luck on your project, post some pic's of the progress.

Should be easy to take a small part that hasn't been faded by sunlight to an auto paint store and have it matched.

Be careful, vintage sleds have a way of turning into a sickness.... especially old Skidoo's! Have fun

From their website, "...when Delfeet acrylic enamel 85194 is use on a Bombardier Ski Doo, Maple Syrup is to be use for base coat..."

From where I'm standing that galvanizing looks great already. I've heard sometimes things come out a bit warped after hot-dip galvanizing.

You don't want it getting the speed wobbles on a fast downhill run

Great project, I'd love a vintage Ski Doo

How reliable is something like this, as it's old skool simple will it just run and run forever when done?

The one time I bought snow mobiles, it didn't snow for three years. You guessed it, dumped them just prior to a record winter.

Your sled will be a piece of art when done.
