Anyone going stir-crazy, cabin fever...?

I'm not very good at being house bound

The police were n the beach the other day telling people to go home . All the usuals are out walking dogs or going for a surf but are just giving eachother a polite nod.

Umm, I better get used to it.

I'm an introverted technology geek, so in a word, no. But I HAVE been making a point of getting outside and going for a walk or bike ride. I've been a lot more militant about it than I would normally.

Being home is not an issue. I love my family and try to celebrate the time we have together, this would never be possible otherwise. We like to cook and bake and have been enjoying time at the table together. Same with the dogs, they love having everyone home. I live in a nice place where I can run and bike from my house, I'm in the vineyards and the hills in a few minutes and I get plenty of workouts in alone and with the family. If the weather is nice I can do yard work and get the cars in ship shape.

What is annoying is not being able to go to work. Try to deal with an HR issue over the phone for example, or schedule work while planning for proper safety and social distancing. I would rather be unpaid time off. Of course, be careful what you wish for ... it may become a self-funded shelter-in-place sabbatical - has already happened for many.

I've been going to the office. Going out for lunch now sucks.

Young healthy people having to sequester even when this is not much of a threat to them... but at least losing their jobs hurts them, so there's that.

The coppers will only interact with you with the bull horn, safely ensconced in their Explorers, windows up. "Clear the beach people, or I'll hold my breath until you do."

Unfortunately, with 40 million people in this state (California) you can only do so much virtue signaling social engineering.

If I didn't leave near the beach it would be more difficult. The cops let the locals use the beaches, so that's good. But they closed the local parks in the Santa Cruz Mountains with the long hiking trails. So it's just the Coastal Trail and the beach for now. Can't complain.

Not really stir crazy, having been retired for years. But sure miss playing pool. Wishing I'd had room for a 9' table...

My GF moved into my place just before the social distancing thing so things are good

And she cooks!

I'm rehabbing a John Deere 316 in my shop, and also building a stout 10x16 greenhouse for my wife between rain showers. I always have things to do on the farm.

Not in the least... I'm fortunate to have a decent shop area under the house with a good selection of wood in multiple sizes, plenty of fasteners, nails, finishes and stains to choose from (I see now I'm a hoarder to a certain extent- a good thing during times like this).
I also have a weight bench and barbells down there to stay in shape with, plus a newer treadmill (wife wore the last one out about 6 months ago), a rower and there's a long set of stairs to go attack about 2 miles away.

Our oversize 2 car garage has room for mechanical projects and there's lots of other projects that can use my attention.

Being retired for over 4 years has been good practice for this, I do miss direct interactions with extended family.
My wife and I get out for walks often, that's always fun- she's a hoot.

The other thing I'd like to do more of is get out in my aluminum boat, plastic canoe or wooden Kayak- officials have closed boat ramps at my favorite playground.

I am. I’m pretty social. Amazing how much I miss meeting friends for a beer. Cabin fever is setting in.

Today, I shimmied under my truck and greased my u-joints; in a drizzling rain.

What is saving me is cooking. I’m doing all sorts of stuff. I’m making teriyaki chicken from scratch. It amazed me I had ingredients like Sake and Mirin. Never tried it before. Now I’ll probably grill it in the rain. Hehe.

FaceTime with friends is weird. My wife does it all the time. Men? Maybe it’s me, but it’s feels odd.

Just got back from a couple hours on the Ural. 80 degrees today and very few cars on the roads. And no cars on the fire roads. CV19 is great for motorcycling!

I bought this last week, and a similar one coming for the wife.
Cool design, 7 speed and 350 watt pedal assist that makes you feel like Superman and flies up steep hills, if you need it

Gotta get out of the house, so might as well enjoy the scenery.
No traffic, but no where to go, so might as well enjoy the ride, no matter how you roll.

Nice bike...it might be an illusion because of the camera, but that seat looks uncomfortable.
Nose is too high?

Not at all. I've been using the past couple weeks to actually get out and drive the cars while there's very little traffic. Even our normal rush our moves along pretty smoothly these days.

You are correct.
The seat was adjusted right after the pic was taken, which was right after I assembled it.
It is a really nice bike, only 37 lbs, which is great for an electric, and came UPS.
