Just keep in mind that if you don't build at least 51% yourself, then you won't qualify for the DIY maintenance capability (repairman's cert) that the original builder had. You'll only be able to do limited "routine" maintenance, just as if it were a normal/cert'd A/C. As such, it would negate one of the big perks of home-builts.
