The Virus - First Hand Reports?
 

I’ve seen a number of the amateur reports refuting the doomsday that our media is reporting. And I’ve certainly lost any and all trust in all major media outlets over the last few years. So does anyone have first hand witness level information that what is being reported is actually true? My daughter works in a hospital as a PA (Physicians Assistant) to an orthopedic surgeon. She doesn't deal with coronavirus afflicted folks directly. She did say that she heard of a patient that was a woman in her 30s that was seemingly healthy checking in and dying within a few days.

Based on my impressions from listening and reading about this, it seems to be like a BMW, either you have good luck and it's not too bad or you have bad luck and it's really bad.

Pretty interesting video. Didn’t watch all of it but a few minutes in you get the idea. But if it’s a big media driven scam...as implied...how do you explain the global impact?

Here's another question:

If we are being deceived - How, exactly, is this being done? The level of operational organization and sophistication required to pull this off globally is huge. I don't see the "world leaders" that I'm familiar with as having the skills to do so...

watched a few minutes of the video and felt dirty, IQ score dropped considerably. Same as moon landing was a hoax and the 9/11 twin towers were brought down with explosives by the government for XYZ.

OK, now I have to go take a shower. Yuck.

Yes. Brother in law is a surgeon. May go to NY to help out. Friend is a nurse. Her ward has been reconfigured as ICU for COVID. And more. It is real.

But, there are millions who are just good and sick.

It is real. But the odds are in your favor.

If we had had cell phones with video cameras used by people who are too stupid to hold the camera right, then we would know the truth. As it is we have to rely on government and media reporting of it.

I work at the hospital. This thing is very real.

I am a surgeon and also was one of the first 10 to be infected in my state. The virus is real and horrible. I am now recovered but I had a moderate case and went into the infection as a well seasoned endurance athlete and now my lung capacity is crap.

You do not want this. Now as a physician I am back to work and this is not looking good at all.

It is real and anyone who feels that it is not serious needs to realize that we are behind in our efforts. Stay at home.

Just asking the question guys. I believe people that I can talk to. I don’t believe the media in any capacity. I believe there’s a lot of terrible stuff going on right now, but I also believe that the media is making the most of it. If it bleeds it leads, and has there ever been a better example of that?

This is one time that you need to realize that we are behind in our efforts to contain this. The media, I agree has a bad track record for reliability and sensationalism. This time though they may be underselling the issue. Our American principles of individual choice and don’t tell me what it do is going to be many people’s undoing.

I have been and am on 2 fronts. Someone who has had the virus and as a doctor. If it takes me to tell you this is not to be messed with then I am happy I have had influence in our community. Stay safe and stay home.

Asymptomatic people transmitting this are the biggest danger.

If I may hazard a guess reading into the fear and dread in your post, the medical community has a puzzle on their hands as to what the virus is doing to the patients and what's killing people off. The unknown is the scary part.

About being behind, if China had allowed the US experts to help them back in January, we might have gotten a clearer understanding of the disease by now.

Yep, the super-spreader carrying this thing around and infecting 1000s because they don't know they are sick. We had a 19 yr old who went to FL spring break to party, came back and went to Vegas to party some more, came back to Pasadena and died after a few days in the hospital. He was just being a kid and spread it to people in airports, on beaches, hotels, and casinos, who then spread it all over the country.

You need to ask the ****ing tinfoil crackpots who assembled that video why they did it.

Since you are in a hospital and FL, not sure if you have or have not seen this. I am assuming that like everyone else you do not have as much PPE as you will need. Please pass it on to anyone.

Well that’s too bad.
You’ve got your choices for information, the various news outlets, the government, and yoyos like the people in that video. Who do you trust implicitly? Hopefully no one. Who do you completely dismiss? Hopefully no one.
The trick is to be smart and critical and glean information from many sources.
Even the clowns in that video had some good information- the hospitals as shown in the news aren’t crowded 24/7. Good to know. Of course, like the news media, they then took it too far and implied that the hospitals are never busy.
It’s a jungle out there.
