Because the MSM does it all day long when the report fits their agenda. Duh.
Please remember that the number of tests are skyrocketing so instead of looking at the raw number of cases testing positive, look at the percentage of tests that are positive. And oh, BTW, the current rapid report tests have a lot of false positives. When eric posts "confirmed deaths", it means the person died and had a marker indicating there was the virus. It DOESN'T mean the virus killed them. https://www.foxnews.com/health/colorado-man-died-alcohol-poisoning-death-classified-coronavirus-report Do you have any idea how many people died who were breathing air prior to dying? If you use the same method as the CDC and MSM, you must conclude that the air killed them! Bottom line, the "data" is BOGUS.

Apparently despite being for the most part “open,” Sweden is headed for a recession . . .

Sweden expected a downturn in their economy. I made a quick check on unemployment on statista.com. Sweden's unemployment rate is 7.19%. America's is 14.7%. So they have that going for them.

The point is that if other countries adopted a similar approach, then the economies of the world would not be in as much jeopardy as they are now (especially those that rely heavily on trade, like Sweden). From the article: "The trade-reliant economy has been unable to withstand the global shock triggered by widespread lockdowns elsewhere." “The economy will be constrained by the recovery in the rest of the continent given its dependence on external demand,” said David Oxley of Capital Economics." "About half Sweden’s GDP comes from exports, and some of its best known companies, such as Volvo Cars and Electrolux, have had to cut thousands of jobs as demand dries up." |

KC does that shiit all the time - cries out against posting PARF stuff in OT and then regularly drops PARF-subject commentary in non-political threads (usually thinly disguised as humor) . . . the bisch is sneaky like that!

^^^ ??? Worldometer has Sweden at rank 8 behind Spain, Italy, UK and France. Am I missing something? Is this total death rate or death rate per recent time period? Edit: I figured it out. It is per day / week: https://www.businessinsider.com/sweden-most-coronavirus-deaths-europe-per-capita-report-2020-5 Same being said here. Along with other interesting info regarding 'herd immunity' https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/05/20/swedish-antibody-study-shows-little-sign-of-herd-immunity/ |

![]() Yeah, not even close. ^ Sweden is at number 8 on that stat and would need 5x current to take the number 1 spot. I get the sense that quite a few REALLY want that to happen.

What is looked at here is "current" death rate. I guess per day or week. That just means they are "hot" right now. But comparing them to countries that look to have peaked weeks ago may not be sound or useful.
The best thing to do is to compare Sweden to similar countries and leave it at that. G |

Well, these guys seem to at least be posting OK data, so here are the hard cold facts on the matter
![]() Still does not tell all that much, as the demographic of those dying is a factor. I personally believe this is a human "culling of the herd" as according to the data I follow most closely (Netherlands), its about 60-70% of deaths are occurring for folks in the 85-89 age group, and scarcely any below 50. And, as I have said before, once a person gets north of 70, your risk profile for all sorts of things gets worse, by the time you hit late 80's you are just one cold/flu or health issue away from leaving this vale of tears. Guts of it, in my mind, we will never stop this virus, we all need to get it at some point unless we are fortunate enough to not get exposed via herd immunity and/or we have built up antibodies in some other way. The economy should never have been shut down the way it was, but we should have put a lot of energy into doing what we can to keep the folk over the age of 60 or so protected, and certainly seniors over 70 should have gotten focused care. This shutdown is stupid, the Swedes had it right from the get-go. Dennis Last edited by Iciclehead; 05-21-2020 at 07:02 AM.. |

I am always impressed with the mental gymnastics conservatives are capable of in order to avoid admitting they were wrong.
Data says Sweden Transmission rate low "Swedens doing stuff right" Data says they're higher than other nordic countries "yeah sweden" Data says they're now higher than any other country in the world "Yeah I mean it's just what needs to happen, like I said" Just my opinion, cheers!

Is this incongruent data day or something? I don't understand why people choose to be so stupid.
