Twilight Zone

What was your favorite episode?

https://youtu.be/oPOoEQ2vx7w

Evans, Marv 04-07-2020 09:28 AM

"To Serve Man."

pwd72s 04-07-2020 09:37 AM

Inger Stevens, "The hitchhiker"....sort of prophetic...and sad. Always will wonder the why of her suicide...

"The Long Morrow" with Robert Lansing and Mariette Hartley.

"Commander Douglas Stansfield, one of the forgotten pioneers of the space age. He's been pushed aside by the flow of progress and the passage of years, and the ferocious travesty of fate. Tonight's tale of the ionosphere and irony, delivered from the Twilight Zone."

I like most of them.... a few stand out and some I won't watch....
I like the the cap't Kirk in the diner with mystic fortune teller machine

Sooner or later 04-07-2020 09:53 AM

I have been watching them every night. Serve Man is damn good.

Time Enough To Last was pretty good.

Burgess Meredith is a bank teller that loves to read. He lives to read. He goes to the quiet bank vault to read during lunch.

One day the nukes reign down and everyone dies except him. He was in the vault reading. He wanders the decimated landscape, gets lonely, and after finding a gun decides to end it all.

He looks up and sees the library! He is in heaven! He stacks the books. This month, next month, next year, on and on. He bends over to pick up a book and his coke bottle lens glasses fall off and shatter...

asphaltgambler 04-07-2020 10:22 AM

Seen them all hundreds of times, still watch. My favorite is the old hillbilly and his hunting dog who 1 night go coon hunting, the dog falls in the water after treeing the animal and the guy dives in to save him. Later as they were walking back came upon a 'rest area'. Except the dog was not allowed nor would go near the gate.

Without a doubt this is my favorite episode as well.

Spoiler aler ... nevermind. :(

McLovin 04-07-2020 10:42 AM

I think spoiler alerts end after a show’s been out for 60 years! :)

pwd72s 04-07-2020 11:09 AM

60 years and still current enough to watch...says a lot about the brilliance of the writing...

Just wish him to the cornfield....

red-beard 04-07-2020 11:53 AM

I loved "It's a Good Life". Bill Mumy. Went on to Lost in Space and long role in Babylon 5. (Wish him away to the cornfield).

Time Enough To Last!

Eye of the Beholder - Woman is "ugly", except she is not. Everyone is always in shawdows/masks. And everyone is pig faced.

And then the one where the woman won't decide on her plastic surgery because she doesn't want to look like everyone else. And ends up choosing the "look" just like her friends.

So many good episodes.

The Outer Limits episoide where the alien spacecraft scoops a huge chunk of town and moves it to an alien world...very scary...

Aren’t those the same episode? The one with Ellie Mae before she went all hillbilly?

No. One is where everyone has a pig nose. The other is everyone becomes "beautiful".

I found the vid, right clicked on it and copied the embed code, and pasted it in the post.

One of mine too...

I always liked 'The Invaders' from season 2. Agnes Moorhead in a great solo performance, with not a single word of dialog spoken until the episode's closing scene.

I liked it. Interesting to see Jonathan Winters play a serious role. Some shots looked incredible (that triple bank) and some were horrible. Is there a game where you rack 14 balls with the front one missing?

I had forgot about Eye of the Beholder.

The rock band Rush really liked Twilight Zone.

CurtEgerer 04-08-2020 10:27 AM

And don't forget about Serling's Night Gallery, sort of Twilight Zone in color.
