CARES Act suspends RMD's for 2020
Great news for me and perhaps for some of you other older retirees having to make RMDs from IRA accounts. RMD as in Required Minimum Distribution...
also the SECURE act passed in 2019 raises the age for having to make RMDs from 70 1/2 to 72 which is also good news to some ..... Just in time for the stock market crash for me. I would have had to start taking my RMD next year. By pushing it off to 2023 the market has time to correct and settle. Maybe I won't lose so much.
I took 25% if what I had left in securities out in February when the DOW was still above 29000, but the money I have left in there - ouch!
