Long Beach has installed several of these bstards around the city. They don't leave enough room for a fire truck to go around w/o jumping the curb so they have low sloping curbs. As such, when in my PU I just drive over the things too.
Saves on tire wear.   If you lived in Long Beach you'd know what a joke the 'sewer by the sea' is. |
