Gin slushy! HMMMM. I've made vodka slushies with frozen lemonade and summer is on the way.

just to be clear. when the wife calls and say, "i m at the grocery store, need anything?"

the answer is NOT, bring back some Vermouth. she will bring back the cheapest swill she can find.

i got my glasses. made a martini and it was not good. not good at all. i think i will go and get a better Vermouth. my gin was Bombay Sapphire which is the other issue maybe.

That stuff's so lightly flavored that it, to my tastes, doesn't hold up to any vermouth. Like it's "gin lite". I don't mind traditional Bombay - and sometimes a bartender "hooks me up" with the "better" sapphire and it's weak sauce.

Might be good in a Southside though with only lime and simple to battle with.

just chilled Goose or Chopin, olive juice and blue cheese olives

okay.

my liver is hating life. :) but i got it. volumes, the duration of the stir, how much ice, the type of vermouth, etc.

need to find a better gin, but i am good to go.

Or, you might find that the appeal of actually drinking a martini isn't as great as it looks like in the movies.

Might be other cocktails that are tastier. That's sort of where I ended up.

We might have an effective lifetime limit on alcohol consumption, so prioritizing our cocktail choices is prudent.

;)

One of my favorite moments with MrsWD was in the Oak Bar at the Plaza before it was sanitized. We had just finished our Martinis and the bar tender asked if we wanted another. She slowly slid her glass across the bar to him and said, "Yes, fill this to an inappropriate level please."
Good times. A long time ago.

This is our cordial/martini/party glass collection. Mrs. Pazuzu's grandfather brought them over circa WW2 from either Japan or Okinawa. Just the skinniest little things, all excellently etched with stars. We have 5-7 of each, depending on how many have survived the years. The second pic shows how dainty they are...
