Diogenese can extinguish his lamp

A thread on a pool site I go to. A person without a clue inherited a couple of cues & a case, asked if anyone knew values.

I couldn't help but wonder what the responses would have been on a board if instead of cues, it had been an early 911S in mint condition?

The thread...no need to read all the responses, you'll quickly get the feel.

The quality of the photos and the presentation make me wonder if the whole story is on the up and up.

If the story is true and my suspicions are unfounded, then good on the billiards community for stepping up and making sure the guy gets accurate valuations.
I believe that on this site, Pelican, a similar situation with a long-nose S would bring the same outpouring of quality advice. (And conversely, anyone who tried to dupe the guy would be taken to the woodshed)

There is a great thread on the 911 tech site that starts with something like "what type of engine is this" and it starts off sketchy. Grady Clay came through and identified it as a 4 cam 356 engine and worth some real money. The family that had the engine was thrilled to find the real value.
