Best Modified, Daily Driver and Club Racer

This is my 993C2, purchased in 1999, starting service as a daily driver and weekend DE car. When I got the racing bug I thought about the early days when racing cars were driven to the track, raced, and returned to daily duty. These are a few photos documenting that effort.

I still own the car, just finished painting it, replacing pieces and parts, carpeting, components lost and damaged along the way, it's going back to daily driver duty retaining some of the elements from its racing days.

That is a close runner up to mine... and yes, I still own it.

This is what i looked like when I first bought it from a pelican back in 2004.

This is after I built a high compression 2.7RS engine for it. Practice day at Race City in Calgary...

It is a gift to have the skills to do your own work and drive the car on the track and in competition. The difficult part is getting all the prep work done followed by bouncing to the venue in a stiffened racing car. Arriving to drive fatigued is not a good scenario, make the wrong mistake and how do you get home? I have to say, I have fond memories of those bold days.

Autosolos in the UK rules state that you must not trailer the car to the event. I live a minimum of 80 miles from the good venues so I have to start out real early to make the 7 or 8 am scrutineering, often in below zero temps, in a firmly suspended car, 2 of which ( I now sold) have no Aircon or ABS. And I pay money to indulge in this torture!!
