My Hot Rod back at shop where it was born

Just for a visit, four other hot rods live there, two more inside.

I like your hotrod, sir. Looks great and not over the top. Seems like it would be a fun ride.

I don’t know a single person who owns a hot rod and I like it like that.

These things are way to unsafe for use on public roads with their scabed together brake systems, etc. Just irresponsible to own one of these or let it loose on streets where there could be children.

Love the rear three quarter view of your hotrod. Perfect stance.

(And I just noticed the license plate. First thing I thought of was that you must be a deadhead, but then I remembered all the pictures you post from your job. Great slogan!)

Hot rods that are properly built by those that know the trade are probably as safe as any 1950-1970 factory built automobile, maybe safer as the really good ones have better brakes and suspensions. That said, there are a lot of poorly assembled hot rods running around that are accidents waiting to happen. Another and probably more dangerous are the pickup trucks running around with 12" or more lift kits. In the event of a collision with an un-modified vehicle the high riders tend to not match bumpers but to ride up and over the stock vehicles crush zones. Many states (Georgia is one) have laws on the books that require the bumpers either be lowered or extensions (downward) be added. Unfortunately most cops don't enforce those laws!

I really like that yellow pickup. Your rod fits right in.

I've been wanting a 32 Ford roadster for a while. Somehow it turned into a 69 Fiat Spider instead. I have an engine transplant coming up in my future. Going for more displacement, but keeping it in the family. Those Fiat twin cams are one of my favorite designs.

Glad to see it looks like Spring up there.

Yeah, I liked those little Fiats also. I had a 124 for awhile.

Thanks for lookin', and thanks for words on my '29.

When I drive the Rod people wave and thumps up, when I drive the Porsche they don't do that at all.

Fiat twin cams used to be a favourite motor to use when hopping up Morris Minors in the UK.A real thoroughbred of a design and beautifully built engine.

The Fiat 124 twin cam engines were a great upgrade to put into a Fiat 850, especially the 850 Spyder. I had the opportunity to work on a Fiat Abarth 750 engine once. The cylinder head was so small I could pick it up easily with one hand! Neat stuff.

I see you are from Leeds - I worked at Vickers Defense in Crossgates in the 90s and a lad there used to drop Fiat Twin Cams in Minors. I think he was one of the Beardmore brothers. Super talented fabricator.
