Funny, made it last night and asked the wife why it’s the only thing you eat where you can smell it when you pee....no response

Asparagusic acid

I have never (and will never) eat asparagus, but I have been in the bathroom, and smelled the after effects.

Well-

When I eat asparagus, my urine has a distinct "new car smell." Is that normal?

Soap tastes much better than cilantro to me. I do have the bitter gene though so that may make a difference. To me it is just bitter.

Nope, not the only thing by far. When I make chili, it affects the smell of my pee. I don't eat cereal any more, but yes, when I used to eat cereal it used to make my pee smell different. There are other things as well.

Is that engineered into it?

^Nah... Scratch my original statement. Vash came out with the cursive thread, which gave me a better idea.

(Written in finest cursive) something like:

"Dear Mom, Happy Mother's Day. I've been eating a lot of asparagus lately..."

john70t 05-08-2020 11:25 AM

Yeah it tastes best buried under beans and hot sos, but there are lots of good things about cilantro:

Well, there goes that theory. (You sure that's what you're smelling when you're in the loo?)

You seem to pay a lot of attention to urine.

This thread reminds me of my son's best friends - Ewin and Jeremy. Of course they were called Urine and Germy by their friends.

Not sure about the asparagus, as I don’t eat much, but dang, when I eat tuna fish, it smells for a day or two.
