Great news!!

This is such a fantastic story. Serious respect to the doctors and nurses and medical staff (you know they’re all strung out and overworked these days anyway dealing with other problems), the donor (posthumously) and their family for giving the gift of life and hope, and for Elissa for being such an internally-tough, never-say-die badass. She’s awesome. Here’s hoping that everything goes well and no complications. She certainly deserves it for being so positive and determined to go on through all this. Awesome story.

I'm choking up a bit at reading this news. I swear I couldn't be more pleased. A wish granted, a door opened.

All blessings on both families, especially to those who suffered a loss and chose to turn it into a gain for the other.

Great news. It is an amazing era we live in when the lungs and many other organs can be transplanted. We are all pulling for her.

Congratulations and what great news the surgery went the way it was hoped. Just think how relieved she will be, being able to live a normal life in the future compared to the alternative. Keep us posted.
