Woo... :)

MAY 8 4:33 PM IS OFF VENT! I Just got off the phone with sweet Elissa Hase. She is in pain, but breathing on 4L of O2 on her own with her new lungs. A huge step in 24 hours. Only 8 hours after post op!!!
She has her phone and may or may not text, but she can communicate.
She will start getting nutrition tonight.

ELISSA OWN SELFIE!

All such fantastic news ❤❤❤

Been following the journey silently for a while. Glad that this difficult and draining journey has reached a really good place for Elissa and your family and a traumatic loss for another family has provided something positive for them to reflect on.
Hoping her rapid recovery continues and she prospers.

Those of us who are not donors; what are you waiting for? Perfect example of what leaving a few bits behind can do to enrich the lives of others.

Perfectly stated.

Whatever miles are left on the treads I hope someone can use the bits. Make sure your DL reflects you wishes if your State has that program.

We all hope her recovery is going well!

I've been present during a 'harvest'..
it's done with utmost respect to the donor..

Important..
while you may have stated your desire to be a donor..
it's your immediate family that gives or not ..
the go ahead..
you must stress your desire with them..
as to often they say NO...

There is a post in Facebook from Saturday, late afternoon that indicates Elissa had run into some speed bumps. It's noted that it's not unusual and day two or three post procedure may be rough.

Worth reading via the link Gary posted in post #1 here.

Oops - in another thread. https://www.facebook.com/JustBreatheForElissa/

I sure hope everything is OK.
