Nobody else is going to tell you this. Post in the appropriate forum, stop arguing, and don't poke the bear. I am not the bear. People have contacted me about various things, to see if I was responsible. You know when I am responsible. My name is right there. If I move a thread to PARF, I'm doing you a favor. If someone else moves it, and you are the cause, you are not doing yourself any favors.

Now if I close this thread, you will think I am screwing you. If I leave this thread open, and it gets out of hand, that would be screwing you. The real people who run this forum just want people to have a good time, and mostly no one is going to spend a lot of time moderating PARF, unless asked. They don't want to ban anybody. But I think that after a while, dealing with the same situations and the same people, they are going to get tired of it.

I think they were hoping that a generally respected person like Zeke could become a moderator and straighten things out. But that didn't happen, and now you have me. But I cannot stop people from reporting posts, and I cannot be around enough to make sure things get taken care of before that happens. Nor am I particularly respected by the people who really need to take this in.

But I'm telling you anyway. The world is changing, and the people who make this forum possible are stressed enough without having to deal with moderating a few people over and over again. Other people who get sucked into the drama are in general not looking for it.

Again. If someone reports a post, it goes straight to the top. Someone else deals with that. If my action are not making you happy, then I am sorry, but there is a lot of moderating that goes on here that I do not do.

And eventually it won't happen for you as well. Look at the record: Z-man and nostatic bailed. I was chastised mainly because these forums are not the stuff of Wayne and the 2 venerable mods that stayed with it for years. It has evolved to the lowest common denominator. When one of those goes away, another takes his place. It stays at an incredibly boorish level. I thought that I could return the place to its former better self. That was the simple product of naiveté.

What I saw in 7 months is the wholesale contempt for other members and the host itself. Not always directly but it is there.

I wish I was able to convey what you have said here. Excellent! I wish you well in all senses. And I have Tom Petty's line in mind when I open Pelican, "Don't come around here no more."

I get a hellova lot more done nowadays.
