It is hard to have confidence in and respect for the decisions when there is no visibly logical reason to have the thread locked and no reason given. You'd think they would post something in the thread before locking it... Hopefully it was just an error.

Wayne used to say "This thread has run it's course".

I had one closed also . It was a dumb post, and I probably should not have posted it , but I have seen far worse . First time in my almost 17 years here .

I was chastised by a current mod about 6-8 months ago when I started a thread asking why a thread was moved...but don't know if he was a mod then or not. Editing posts, editing threads (deleting sections of posts), and now this :(.

He told me I was not doing myself or PPOT any favors...but imo, I did absolutely nothing that hasn't been done in the 20 years I've been here.

You know who you are....

Fix it...because it's total BS imo....not that my opinion matters either.

I just read the last half of the thread that I hadn't read yet, and I can't see a reason either. It seemed to be 95% people talking about loving their dogs or having great dogs. Very weird.

As the bad dog OP closed the door thread, I will roll-over and accept the trick that the moderator pulled a rope on us. The stay of execution was coming to an end so I will play dead and shake it off.

I think it was because there was no arguing. The bread thread is next!

FWIW, if a post is reported, it goes straight to the top. The people who keep this forum running have a lot to do, and I don't think they want to deal with personal complaints. But they will. And I expect it gets old, seeing the same people doing the same things over and over again.

If anyone was keeping stats, you would soon see a few obvious patterns. Don't become another statistic. I don't hand out infractions, and I am just trying to keep people out of trouble. But for every thread I moderate, 10 others get handled by people way above my pay grade.

If you are pissed off because you don't have the freedom here to say what you please, consider that Wayne isn't here, and he hasn't got your back. I would like to have your back, but I am only on a few times a day. If I can't get you where you need to be before someone reports you, it is out of my hands. People are not out to get you. People are tired of hearing people complain about you.

I know you guys. I'm not tired of you. Other people who are really busy stopping hackers and spammers just so you can bicker and stir stuff up are probably getting a little tired of it.

Nobody else is going to tell you this. Post in the appropriate forum, stop arguing, and don't poke the bear. I am not the bear. People have contacted me about various things, to see if I was responsible. You know when I am responsible. My name is right there. If I move a thread to PARF, I'm doing you a favor. If someone else moves it, and you are the cause, you are not doing yourself any favors.

Now if I close this thread, you will think I am screwing you. If I leave this thread open, and it gets out of hand, that would be screwing you. The real people who run this forum just want people to have a good time, and mostly no one is going to spend a lot of time moderating PARF, unless asked. They don't want to ban anybody. But I think that after a while, dealing with the same situations and the same people, they are going to get tired of it.

I think they were hoping that a generally respected person like Zeke could become a moderator and straighten things out. But that didn't happen, and now you have me. But I cannot stop people from reporting posts, and I cannot be around enough to make sure things get taken care of before that happens. Nor am I particularly respected by the people who really need to take this in.

But I'm telling you anyway. The world is changing, and the people who make this forum possible are stressed enough without having to deal with moderating a few people over and over again. Other people who get sucked into the drama are in general not looking for it.

Again. If someone reports a post, it goes straight to the top. Someone else deals with that. If my action are not making you happy, then I am sorry, but there is a lot of moderating that goes on here that I do not do.

Fair enough Daniel...just be transparent. No one likes to be chastised for benign posts or threads however. I've never reported a post except on three occasions....blatant racist posts that were immediately dealt with. I don't know how long you've been a mod...but you've got this ;)!
