A full size in a different room sounds like a better option. Have the wife visit on occasion.

For convenience I ordered Purple. Not bad. Beats having to go to the store. Also 100 night return.

Although I couldn't find anything available from Vandelay Industries, I bought a latex model about a year ago and have been amazed at the impact that finally finding the right mattress has made on my quality-of-life.

Latex is awesome - very firm (which I like - I’d sleep on a board if I could). I got the natural latex one from IKEA and it’s been wonderful (did have to wait for shipping and it was a bit of a pain but eventually got it). Very solid feeling and comfortable, not too warm or cool (I can’t stand being cold but it’s easy to get TOO hot here at night esp. on memory foam and then wake up drenched in sweat - ugh no thanks). Add some Casper pillows and good quality bedding and I actually look forward to those few hours I get here and there. Wasn’t stupid expensive either. Not cheap but not thousands.

We just got a Winkbeds mattress. We got the luxury firm and it's a little firmer than I like so I'm not sure I'm going to like it, but I have to post pictures of it. It was delivered by UPS so I suspected it would be in a box but since it's a hybrid spring and foam bed I wasn't sure how they'd do it. I've seen foam beds in a box but never a spring mattress:

George Costanza would be proud of you 😁

I always recommend Select Comfort aka Sleep Number. We bought ours in 2006, it is as good as new. The settable firmness is nice but I really like the longevity - no sagging, no getting filled with ick, no matter what "accidents" happen nothing can soak into the mattress itself. You can, I think, also get heating and cooling. Not cheap at all but so worth it.

Amazing how they can pack some of these things for easier shipping.

Thanks for the photos.

Unbelievable!

Latex IS awesome.
Latex > memory foam (blech)
I don't have and have never slept on a latex mattress, but I do have a 3" thick natural latex mattress pad and I've been sleeping on latex pillows since I was a kid. I have tried other pillows, expensive feather/down, memory foam, etc.... I can't stand them. Latex FTW.

This place is not cheap, but has great customer service. They do pillows, mattress pads, and I'm pretty sure they also do complete mattresses.

IKEA is good value if you are comfortable on their mattresses.

Right now I have a $4k king that 'someone else' picked out. Honestly, my $200 Amazon foam mattress was just as comfortable.

I know some people just go to foam stores and have a mattress built to order. Cheap, but no returns if you choose wrong.

Given that I'm jersey born and bred "going to the mattresses" means something entirely different.

I bought 6.5" thick upholstery foam cut to shape in 3 pieces from am actual foam supplier for my boat front bed mattress and ordered upholstery fabric and sewed up removable fitted covers. It would have cost a lot of money to have ordered this all from an upholsterer. I don't of course sleep on this very often, but I like to be comfortable when I do, and that is only on warm nights.

You can get a memory foam topper to soften it up.

I hate springs it is like sleeping on a chain link fence

and why do you want a foam with a memory

I have good old foam rubber in modern form a non rubber synthetic
it don't yellow or crumble or remember anything
you can get it it what ever density you want as thick and it any size or shape

Check out The Original Mattress Factory if there is one near you.

I will also second this I have been very happy with our mattress. I did find it odd that they never contacted us after the purchase.
We have a king and about the time I start to notice a lump or sag its time to turn or flip and it feels like new again.
