I am very cat-like in that regard I’m miserable if I’m wet and cold. MrsWD is the exact opposite. She’ll take a 30 minute bath in a 65 degree room.

There is a crab apple tree 18 feet from the pool that was the cause of most of my In-pool grief this year. It’s coming down. The deck is finally finished, so that time suck is behind me. Water temp is 75 and MrsWd is happy. I won’t get in if it’s under 80. I have a used heat pump pool heater that I need to hook up and see if it works. But that’s another time suck doing something I find unrewarding when I have cars to work on!

So yesterday MrsWD spent a good 20 minutes happily splashing around in the freezing cold water and declared she couldn't find the damn screw. Today I reluctantly put on the mask and snorkel and found it in about 5 minutes. I think she was having too much fun and I was motivated to get the job done and get the hell out.

It's stupid to use these screws for the purpose. I'm replacing them all with 3/16 pop rivets and sleeping well from here on out.

Thanks. I Just hope this thread enlightens every reader to think hard about the consequences of indiscriminate screws in pools.

I take it all back. It's been 95 degrees, blazing sun, and a water temp of 85 in the pool for 10 days. MrsWD and I have been wine-drunk and naked in the pool every evening for 10 days and the ratio of hours working on the pool to hours IN the pool are approaching 1.
This ain't so bad, really.

Just keep in mind that it never works out well when wine, a pool, nekkidness and a camera are involved.
