I just dirtied my diaper .

Just got back in the shop from lunch. 3 people all stopped in at the same time, so there was a little bit of chaos .
Hector was standing in the shop talking to me . He either owns or manages the local Mexican eatery. Super cool guy, total VW nut. Very dark skinned, speaks broken english
As we are talking a maroon Ford focus stops out in the road, and a young guy gets out of the car, and starts walking towards us.
He has a freakin brick in his hand!!. Both of us are standing there with our jaws agape, like fk, is this really happening ? I started to step back and was considering running .
"Hey Freddy, is this your block? it was laying in the road "
Super nice kid, saw it laying in front of my shop, and walked it in for me. I have a bunch of 4x4, and 2x4 blocks that I keep next to my lift. I sometimes use them when lifting a 4x4 or a car that is difficult to rack. I just did a Land Rover and used 4 blocks on it this morning . Sometime, the wood block will stick on a bolt, or stud on the vehicle and if I don't notice it , falls off when I am pulling it out .
Both of us laughed our butts off afterwards. Man, crazy times

That doesn't look like wood. I hope you aren't using masonry.

A couple weeks ago I noticed a piece of 2x4 in the house garage - I couldn't figure out how it got there. Then I remembered that I had used it under the a-arms of the Mini when I changed the struts. It pressed onto a bolt head and it must have ridden around for a few days.

Its an old oak 4x4 saturated in oil and grease. It sure looked like a brick from 25 feet away .

fastfred.

next time I build a bridge and it uses Elastomeric bearing pads at the abutments. i'll send you an extra pad for the top of your jacks. total game changer.

I think my bridge next summer will use them. we have to take several for testing and I don't know how they test them. I get them back pretty much untouched. to be garbaged.

Thats how you fend off a bear attack. You stop running, reach into your shorts, and throw a brick at it!

No, you reach into your shorts and smear it all over yourself. What kinda bear is gonna eat something that smells as bad as that?
