Left or right handed?

Starting a poll

left handed
right handed
neither

Dantilla 06-15-2020 12:27 PM

Being left dominant in a right hand world makes one fairly ambidextrous.
I write left. Can swing a hammer with either, but left is more natural.
Swing a bat right, play (very poorly) a right-hand guitar.

When the right arm was immobilized in a sling from a torn bicep tendon, I got along just fine.
Recently had left arm immobilized in a sling from rotator cuff surgery. Got along fine.

RWebb 06-15-2020 12:35 PM

When i was in college, some sociology student did her masters thesis on left-handed people. She had about a hundred questions for me. i was 98% left-handed, whatever that means.

Wuz she hawt :)?

flatbutt 06-15-2020 01:08 PM

I was born right handed. My spinal injury forced me to re-train with my left hand for 99% of all tasks. I can write with either but only my left is fully functional.

She was! Cute Asian girl who was very smart as well. Treated me like a test subject.

LWJ 06-15-2020 01:10 PM

Left. My office of 60 people is significantly left handed. Not sure exact percentages but probably 3-4x.

Rikao4 06-15-2020 01:15 PM

in another part of the world..
left is bad..
my left hand has a few more scars than the right..
as does the wrist...
this comes from the flogging or tying..
of my Left appendage..
thanks to the Sister's of Satan..
may they find peace or a rash....
in a bar or prison...

Lefties are statistically more intelligent.
That explains everything.

quicksix 06-15-2020 01:36 PM

Wrong hander all the way

Yep...but the righties won't understand :D

wdfifteen 06-15-2020 01:51 PM

Very right handed, but I bat and golf left handed.
When I’m trying to thread a nut onto a bolt I can’t see I have to do it with my left hand. My right just doesn’t have the sensitivity.
I wish there was no difference. I’d give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

wswartzwel 06-15-2020 01:51 PM

Left for writing, and swinging a bat. Ambidextrous for everything else... swing a hammer either hand, same with welding... actually starting to thread a bolt in seems easier right handed.
My wife is also left handed, as is one of our 3 kids.

vonsmog 06-15-2020 01:58 PM

Left for writing, shoot a bow left, but a gun right. Can bat fairly good when I was young either way, but throw the ball left. Use a right hockey stick.

cabmandone 06-15-2020 02:45 PM

Right for anything that requires fine motor skill like writing or painting. Left for almost everything else. Rifles, shotguns, and my crossbow I shoot equally well with either. My compound bow I shoot left handed. I shift my car with my right hand :D

only in the northern hemisphere!

pwd72s 06-15-2020 04:28 PM

Right handed, right eye dominant...doing anything left handed is a struggle...

Is the mailman right handed?

wswartzwel 06-15-2020 05:19 PM

:)

A930Rocket 06-15-2020 05:55 PM

Right handed. But I use the double backhand method sometimes...😎

jcommin 06-15-2020 05:57 PM

There are 3 kinds of people in this world
Left handers
Right hander and..........
Right handers who think like left handers

vash 06-15-2020 06:21 PM

I was born left handed. (Long story, but it begins with ; a Chinese mother......)

vash 06-15-2020 06:22 PM

I can use chopsticks left handed or right handed. It’s pretty badasss if I can say so myself. :)

Haha Mom!

Jews do the same thing, ya know?

mattdavis11 06-15-2020 07:00 PM

Right handed. Made some nice putts from the opposite side yesterday though.

look 171 06-15-2020 07:01 PM

Wife is ambidextrous to the max. Write, eat and use chopsticks (for you Vash) and everything else with both hands. I am right dominate. When I broke my right collar bone and three ribs a few years ago on my bike accident, My right arm was in this fooking sling and couldn't do anything with my left. I took a dump, not realized how difficult it was to wipe with my left. Oh siht, (Yeah) what a mess. I call and screamed from the master bath downstairs for some help. She comes down and said, what? I can't ...before I had a chance to finish my sentence, she said, hell no, you are on your own. Going shopping and ran off.

Same with using a screwdriver, tightening is easier with a right hand. I think that the arm muscles are stronger rotating outwards, so I find that I'm stronger loosening a screw with my left hand, and tightening it with my right hand.

Alan A 06-15-2020 07:55 PM

Righty righty. Lefty loosely.
Couldn’t help it...

Tobra 06-15-2020 10:05 PM

depends, write and throw right, bat both, tennis and raquetball both, never tried left handed golf clubs, so I don't know about golf. Shooting feels awkward left handed.

KFC911 06-15-2020 10:36 PM

Though I throw like a girl with my right hand, I batted right (naturally), and could from the left side also.... lower avg. but with a bit more power.... go figure? My grandniece was drawing chalk pictures on the driveway when she was mebbe 4-5 years old.... drawing the right side she used her right hand, for the left side (ears, eyes, etc.) she switched the chalk to her left hand... and she drew better with either hand than I can with my left :D.

petrolhead611 06-15-2020 11:08 PM

What's Look171 on about? I, and several of my cousins were born left handed and remain so.Nobody tried to convert us to right handedness.

RKDinOKC 06-16-2020 12:09 AM

Can write first name with left hand while writing last name with right. Kinda hurts a little in the brain to split and track both hands at their individual tasks.

cabmandone 06-16-2020 03:45 AM

I think I was converted to right hand writing. Can't say for sure. Broke my right hand when I was younger and had to learn to write left handed. I can still write left handed but I really have to concentrate.
