We are in the heart of tornado alley. All the main TV stations have a weather app and they are great. I use one from KWTV9 and another called Weather Radio. There is even a third choice, for Oklahoman's called Mesonet. It is tied to all the weather reporting stations in all 77 counties. Mesonet would be useless in other states.
The nice thing about the News 9 Weather app is it works all across the states, and and knows to warn me of pending thunder storms, any severe storms or flash flooding. All of those are free, and on the iTunes store and I presume the Android store for apps.
KWTV Chanel 9 locally has one the largest team of storm trackers in the nation, and better RADAR than the National Weather Center in Norman, OK.
Virtually all the on air people at the local TV stations talking about weather are real meteorologists, not some talking head reading the forecast from NOAA.
