11 Boxsters in the country

I think that's what my friend said, the one I posted about a bit ago who wants to get a new Boxster and Macan. She has a buyer for her 2020 AMG 350 ML at a good price so she went to a dealership today and they had a 2020 Macan S with 10K miles on it, original price (print out, not a sticker) was $68.8 and they offered it to her for $63.5. They said it was a loaner car.

Anyway, she told them she wanted a Boxster first and they said there are only 11 in the country on dealer lots. Germany stopped making them months ago.

Is that possible?

Covid Issues? Shipping? I'd believe it.

I'm having problems with appliance availability. Designed a kitchen around a specific Refrigerator & Freezer, side by side individual built-in units. Readily available in January, now I'm being told maybe September. And that's only because my order is in the que.

If she finds one she wants on the west coast, I'd fly out and drive it back for her.....

Neighbor works for the local Subaru dealership, he said there are basically no new cars in the pipeline due to shutdowns of the plants and suppliers and they are almost out of inventory. All of our local new car dealer lots are really thin, worse than I've ever seen. Of the 40 used cars their buyer was supposed to buy at auction this week, 34 went for over book retail. So things are pretty inflated right now.

No 2020s here in Snottsdale, but there are a couple 2019s, including a GTS in silver for $88k.

Thanks Guys, makes sense. She wants an automatic, that's probably in her favor.

Thanks Eric, I'll look that one up. Black and (deep) red and dark blue are her preferred colors.

I think she'd be OK with a 2019 CPO car.

This one looks good.

Honda, Toyota and Subaru all had extended shut downs due to Covid. They are all back up again but they are running at a much dimenished capacity. From our forecasts here, August looks to be back up to normal levels of production.

Actually the number of new 718's (particularly the Boxster) sold in the last year or so has been surprisingly low. 2019 718 sales were less than 4000 US while the 911 sold nearly 10,000 US. The Cayenne/Macan segment was over 40K. The Panamera sold better than the 718 at 6000+.

I saw one figure that said the Boxster portion of the 718 line up was a measly 782 for the year. The rest were Cayman's. The Taycan was barely a blip on the radar at 130. That was probably all pre sold cars.

When my daughter bought her Cayman new last autumn I was surprised how much more costly it would have been for a Boxster to the same specn. Used to be the other way around when the first Cayman was launched

Yeah, I was thinking: 11 Boxsters...isn't that about 3 months' inventory, anyway?

Yes, I think that blue or Ruby Red or Arena Red from 80s 911 era would would look great on a new Boxster.

I don't like the black wheels, never like all black wheels, but easy to change that. We're talking the car tonight.

Normally I'd agree, but I don't hate them on that car. They compliment the black top/trim. Black and blue always a good combo. She can nickname it "The Bruiser".

Isn't this why you should be talking her into a super low miles cpo 981, so it's got the flat 6?

there's gotta be some out there. I bought my boxster 6 years old (and 6 years ago) with 21k miles, CPO.
