I don't get what’s going on in this country. I don't get why people can’t just wear masks.
This anti-science, anti-media, anti-rules, anarchy and rebellion type behavior is really deep in this country.

Americans just wont do what they are told to do.
This isn’t a British King we are fighting. It’s public health.
I'm just really perplexed by the state of the country and this pandemic.

People are selfish and hate change.
They’ve been going to bars for 40 years and don’t want to change.

Americans are profoundly self centered.
They can’t be bothered to care about others.
They can’t be bothered to wear masks.

The F'ed up thing is Boomers and every generation after them equates wearing a mask with intolerable fascism,
when the Boomers' parents actually fought fascism and made huge sacrifices to do so:
• Basic staples, like sugar, were rationed
• Car factories were converted to making tanks and airplanes
• Pantyhose were so rare they became a black market item
• On both the east and west coasts, mandatory curfews were imposed
• Even in places like New Jersey, houses were required to black out their windows and turn off their lights, every night
• And, the federal government put people with Italian and Japanese relatives in concentration camps (but not Germans, even though German-Americans are the largest single ethnic group in the US)

COVID will kill more Americans in one year than WWII did in four,
and today's idiot snowflakes think wearing a mask and getting Applebee's takeout is worse than fighting the Axis powers.

Social media accelerates the knee jerk, dumb as rocks feedback loop and prevents people from even engaging basic reasoning skills.

Second, age was an important determinant of engagement in mitigation behaviors overall. A smaller percentage of adults aged <60 years, particularly those aged 18–29 years, reported engaging in the mitigation behaviors assessed compared with adults aged ≥60 years.

Sorry to hear this. Can you elaborate on your experience w the disease? Did anyone else in your household get it or people you work with?

Thanks and glad that you are on the mend. :)

Sweden also has women that are actually beautiful, though somehow I don't think you'd be actually meeting any of them.

Well, I can tell you I'm at the bottom end of the boomers, born in 1961. I'm also in Key West, despite a mask ordinance that everyone outside needs a mask, 'Boomers' and younger are sitting shoulder to shoulder at the bars no mask. No happy hours for me. :(

Because of the intolerable fascism?

Correct me if I am wrong but the president had nothing to do with the research at Pfizer . It is my understanding that Pfizer took no money from the Warp Speed fund . Pfizer has done all the heavy lifting on their own dime . ......

Not to parf this, as it's already been dead-horse beaten over there, but this if from Phizer's press release:

The virus situation is resulting in a massive public health exercise as well as combining with an election to form a GIANT study in the psychology of confirmation bias.

Sorry wd, I took your reply out of context.

Spanish flu - 675,000 American deaths. 50,000,000 deaths worldwide.
WW 2 - 75,000,000 deaths worldwide.

COVID. 1,900,000 worldwide. 275,000 USA. Vaccine rolling out now.

It really pales in comparison to the two prior devastating events.

Thanks. As far as I can conclude the only person in my vicinity that could have passed it on is a coworker that tested positiv despite have antibodies three months ago. Her husband contracted it and then she tested positiv again, herself getting very little symptoms but apparently enough to pass it on to me. I have had no fever, no breathing difficulties. A very slight cough but av a heavy headache, pain in my back and completely out of energy. Three weeks now and I am essentially fine, but still less energy.
Strangely enough, despite not having distanced ourselves in my home, nobody else got it.

I conclude I am an very easy target but difficult to spread it myself to others.

Dad911 here is an article that quotes a senior Pfizer official in charge of their Covid vaccine operation . If you read the article it states that Pfizer did NOT take any upfront money from operation warp speed , they did the heavy lifting on their own dime . They DID however work with operation warp speed on advanced orders and to figure out the distribution network . At least that is how I read it . I don't think there is a huge difference on what either of us are saying , it's more like front end costs vs. back end costs . In the end the public hopefully is the winner .

let's not insult garlic bread, but I'm tired of early bell curve people too. It used to be that stupid people were separate from the rest of us but the web changed that. Now, stupid people can share ideas right alongside intelligent people, essentially qualifying and legitimizing their moronic voices. Worse, stupid people are able to connect with each other nation/worldwide creating their own little self-reinforcing and expanding cult of idiocy.

Or something like that.

None. These people aren’t big on the truth.

I have read reports of people denying the existence of Covid right up to the moment they died of it. Natural selection. Smart people are taking measure which increase their chances of survival. Meanwhile.....
