Anytime that I want a movie I buy a DVD or bluray (whichever is cheaper) and then "archive" the movie to stream from my network to my AppleTV.

I keep the hard copies out of the way. No DVD/BD player laying around, no DVD/BD laying around, but can watch anything in my collection when I want.

None of this, "I bought a downloadable version, and then sometimes later someone decided that I shouldn't be able to watch the version that I bought."
