a man has got to know his limitations.

damn..

my Toyota Tacoma fan only blows on High. its a known issue. a simple resistor swap out. however, it is so common that Toyota updated their resistor. the new part appears to come out of the newer 3rd generation tacoma.

GREAT! i bought the parts thinking it was an easy job of splicing it in to the harness. but we have a problem. i have to match four wires. the colors dont match up!! hahhaha. you should have seen me try to tackle my brothers boat trailer lights in my youth. 4 wires matched to 4 wires. i bet mathematically, there are 4137 different combinations.

i showed the pic to my wife and she just started laughing at me.

good times!! i'll farm this job out. i have fried a harness before, and it was not fun.

We've passed down all we know. A thousand generations (of wire splicers) live in you now......

Well.. you could break out an ohm meter, find the common wire, then ohm out the rest...

I think it is ground and 3 levels of resistance for the 3 fan speeds. If you screw it up kinda bad, the positions on the selector will be in the wrong spots (ie full speed in the middle). If you screw it up really bad the motor will spin in reverse. However I think it is hard to fully dicker up the job.

Surely dr google has a wiring diagram however.

At least it is not an elise, took me 2 full weekends to replace the resistors. It involves removing body panels and ALL of the AC system.

I had the same problem with my 2010 Tacoma. Can't remember how I did it, think I found the answer on TacomaWorld forums.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what I did.

Just splice it and get it over with. You know you're going to trade it in on a new Bronco anyway......
