An interesting study. If a drug treatment can prevent the virus from replicating in human cells, it's game over. I wonder what side effects this might have on an otherwise healthy patient.

Work like this is truly remarkable. Back when I worked at J&J doing analytical support for RBC research I learned about membrane proteins. I was blown away by the presence of so many transport moieties on a red blood cell. When other scientists are able to deconstruct the "skeleton" of a viral body, well it stills leaves me awestruck.

I’ve seen lots of reports and papers about compounds that kill the virus in vitro - recall that was one of the reasons people got excited about HCQ - small molecule might be easier to make in quantity?

Looking for info on drugs that are inhaled or otherwise delivered directly to the respiratory tract. There are trials ongoing for inhaled interferon, inhaled remedsivir.
