To the OP, my spidey sense is suggesting to assist this gal with caution. Sounds like she may rate very high on the hot/crazy matrix and they often leave a wide trail of destruction. I married a hot German girl once.

Yeah, I don't think so. Help somebody in the US and it gets on the evening news along with the convenience store holdups and domestic violence arrests. Most people don't actually think it as anything to do with them.

Not the same but I remember some years a go a little girl fell down a well in the US.

Massive effort and a lot of people worked really hard to save her! I think they made a movie about it.

I agree with both of these. And they are even connected: Single mom with special need kid will be best off back home. Of course, that wide trail of destruction may play a role why she wanted to leave the continent in the first place.
