A couple of hints:

Looks like the Droogmobile.

Holy cow! One of three ever built? Museum piece! That’s really cool!
|
That certainly rounds out your collection. Congratulations!
(do you still have the 959?) |
Still got the 959, the tank, the solar car, the fire truck, and a few other oddball ones. This car is currently at the Petersen Museum here in Los Angeles as part of their sci fi cars from Hollywood exhibit. Makes it real good day - the car is 21 miles away!
It hasn’t run in ten years though and needs the mechanical gone thru. Should be interesting to say the least. Wayne |
Wow, still looks futuristic today. Great addition to the fleet Wayne!
Its progressive design brings to mind the SR71 blackbird. Way ahead of its time, and still unequaled. Is there such a thing as timelessly futuriistic. This car maybe an example. Cheers Richard |
Wow, crazy! I know about the 959, various other race cars, but I'm not sure I ever saw the solar car announcement or any other odd balls.
|
What engine and drivetrain does that car have?
Cool new toy for sure. Hopefully it is a common drivetrain and not based on some rare custom engine and mismatched transmission. |

How much did they pay you to haul it away?

Shoulda put that money into getting that 914 with the 3.2 transplant running right! :D
Cool car. |

Car is very interesting. Wiki has some data but Heel n Toe confirmed the exact car early on. Blow the Wiki pic up and check out how long it is. I suspect the one on Wiki is the other survivor out of three but not sure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probe_16 |
Damn. How many parts are you guys buying?!
:) |
Nicely done, Wayne.
I'd ask you if you are enjoying life, but I think we can guess that you are... |
I was hoping it was Mad Max's interceptor.
|
........
|
Was that designed by the Adams brothers who designed the Marcos 1800GT

That would also be on my list if it was possible.

Could be wrong but the MM interceptor was pretty non exceptional in performance other than a movie prop. That said if I had Waynes disposable $ I would build one to the modern standards of performance. Would just tick a box off so well :) I am really digging the custom 4 WD Mustang with huge HP they use for the street videos...Ken Block <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PrqYohBV58o" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I still dig the fire truck.

Still love learning new stuff, and eager to dive into this new car. It's not like there are any factory manuals or info out there on these. Even worse than all the work I did on the 959! -Wayne |

Stay tuned for a webpage on the car to show up on the DempseyMotorsports.com website. -Wayne |

Actually, I must (shamefully) admit that the best car I have bought over the past three years is probably the Ferrari 360 F1. I paid $65K for the thing with about 25K miles on it. It's had a few problems (ignition coils and a transmission cooler that failed and dumped engine coolant into the transmission), but overall, that is a great performing car that looks fantastic (it's dark blue), has working A/C (most of the time), and my wife doesn't complain about that "air cooled smell". Seriously it gets the nod most of the time when I'm looking at "what should I drive home today", and it wasn't so expensive that I worry about leaving it outside at night (the pain in the ass 914 occupies the garage space these days). -Wayne http://dempseymotorsports.com/wp-con...1-1024x768.jpg |

|
Well, Wayne ... I guess now you you can say "I B PROBIN'"
 |
I'll post some more pics next time I see it - it's on display at the Petersen museum at this moment...
