Great customer service

I recently bought a old boat. It’s a 1999 Intrepid. I was wondering how much it weighed as I was having it transported. They not only gave me the weight, they sent me pictures of my actual boat as it was built, and the build sheet and QC report.

I then asked where I could buy the brand decal for the side of the boat, they sent me some for free.

Later I couldn’t figure out where my front fish box drained to. They called and explained how it worked, and sent me the manuals for my boat.

I hated to ask, but I’m planning on changing out my control cables soon, there were no markings on my existing cables. I asked and they told me the length and brand originally on the boat.

Now Im the fourth owner of a 21 year old boat, and I can guarantee I’m not spending the 300k + for a new one, but they have treated me like I just bought a new boat.

Just nice for a change.

I assume such customer care is done so word gets out.

Their reward in this day and age is the publicity it may give.

So, what's the manufacturers name?

Customer service is a two way street. When I worked retail there was a standard of service for all customers. But some customers earned "above and beyond" service because they were kind, thoughtful, engaging . . . all attributes that made you want to really make their day.

Some kudos likely go to you, too, dmcummins!

It is great to find a company that just does what is right for the customers. Even if you did not buy it new, you are a customer of theirs. And there is no substitute for great customer care when it comes to getting a good recommendation from the owners. I suspect if a friend said he was looking at buying a boat you would recommend one of their boats.

Brilliant!

As a business owner, I tell my coworkers to strive for a similar customer experience.

We don't deliver this. But I wish we did. We would have internet posts like yours lauding how great we are.

Nicely done Intrepid!

I’ve definitely let my friends know. I may not be able to afford a new Intrepid, but it may be a sale down the road from someone I’ve talked with.

It’s just refreshing to be able to call or email a company and get a prompt response, I actually feel a little guilty for taking their time.

And while I’m complementing good customer service, Tempest spark plugs replaced 12 plugs on my plane That were 3 yrs old because the chrome was flaking off. They were working fine and were due to be replaced soon, I called to order a different kind and asked if this was normal. They said send them a pic, got 12 new plugs. I was wanting a different type massives vs fine wire, but free is hard to beat.
