I Realize I Am A Ghost

In watching the Democrat Convention it dawned on me how much like a High school social scene politics is. It is all a striving by the high achievers in the immediate materiel world. How shallow the dialog and striving for position is, it is as transitory as the changing of the time of day. They really think they are doing something.

When I was 20 I realized that there was deeper longer lasting meaning to be had. When I moved in that direction to pursue that meaning I had become transcendent..even though I didn't realize it, I have been it all along. I had turned inward and became a spiritual being. I am a spirit that is moving through time and space, and on that plane of existence their are forces of nature at play. Forces that effect events in the material world but are not readily apparent in the material world. One could say it is a shadow world as it is a unquanitiable reality in the material world. One that you can not see nor touch but never the less exists. Such as the quality of feeling love.

So I leave no footprint on this earth where no one will even know that I was here nor existed. But I have the quality of being a disembodied spirit that is moving through time and space. It is the passing through the eye of the needle to the promised land beyond.

You should try writing for a living.
I wouldn’t buy or read it but I’m sure this transcendental self-absorbed BS appeals to
enough people to make a decent buck.

Even this old dullard has pondered time. Cruising the Southern Turkish coast with Stan, we took a Dory trip up the Dalyan (sp?) river to visit an archeological dig, viewing massive tombs carved from a rock hillside thousands of years ago. At the dig itself, it was explained to us that 3 civilizations were being dug,,,the top layer was Roman.

Here in the USA we tend to think only of the here and now. Others think differently. Like: "Things were tough when Alexander the Great took over, but improved under Roman rule." Istanbul was a trading port before man could write...the waters of the Bosphorus have seen most of the history of man.

Tabs made a point...political conventions are like High School politics. In the history of man, the USA experiment has taken the time of a knat's fart. Then when pondering all time, the history of man is but the life of a fruit fly.

Ahhh, but all we have is one trip...reality.

I don't think this a goodbye post...or at least I hope it is not.
Sir Tabdulla One still has much to teach to the uneducated of the world.
Almost every prediction has since arrived at fruition.
He is truly a great man.

(A curious thing about "using only 10% of the brain"....it is probably optimistic.)

Everybody has that spirituality if one would only look and ponder. The material world is a distraction a chimera..

Bigtoe32067 08-18-2020 12:31 PM

Way too deep for me. I’m stuck trying to muddle through this dimension.
But hey, if it makes you more complete than I say go for it.
Tony

The internet is forever. You've left your footprint, such as it is, and it isn't going away.

CMDR Perry 08-18-2020 04:13 PM

There are more things in heaven and earth, Tabs, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Can you beat the ghost in pool? A skilled player can. The drill is to break a 9 ball rack, then given ball in hand for your opening shot, see if you can run out.

Tabby, give it a go...;)

daepp 08-18-2020 07:13 PM

Right on Tabs - pursuing ever higher levels of spirituality is where it's at.

And if I may, I believe much of the rise in depression, suicide, and addiction can be tied to the turning away from faith, where they previously found their spiritual centers.

70SATMan 08-18-2020 07:48 PM

Leaves no footprint but, leaves many pairs of used shoes.

and Dragon Azz Chaps

ramonesfreak 08-19-2020 03:25 AM

Dark star crashes
pouring its light
into ashes

Reason tatters
the forces tear loose
from the axis

Searchlight casting
for faults in the
clouds of delusion

shall we go,
you and I
While we can?
Through
the transitive nightfall
of diamonds

Mirror shatters
in formless reflections
of matter

Glass hand dissolving
to ice petal flowers
revolving

Lady in velvet
recedes
in the nights of goodbye

Shall we go,
you and I
While we can?
Through
the transitive nightfall
of diamonds

I'll stop by and remove the 911 S from your intangible life. It doesn't exist in your life but could in mine. What's the address?

RWebb 08-19-2020 11:21 AM

BTW, what is the viscosity of a ghost?

porsche4life 08-19-2020 11:42 AM

We are spirits in the material world.

At least until we shuffle off.

That’s the way of the world. Plant a flower...

This is the what are you listening to thread, right?

A lack of physicality in daily life causes such disconnect.

Steel workers and athletes face no such introspection for instance.

Physical pain fuels introspection.

The "not again" or "how did that happen" aha moment is not intellectual introspection.

It's called "feeling stupid" or "feeling cheated".

Being in the moment (ie sports or dangerous job) means your head is in the game, in the now.

The larger than life vision tabs was having is only possible if one removes themselves from the moment.
